Shieldaig Camping and Cabins Reviews

Shieldaig Camping and Cabins is set along the popular NC500 driving route by Loch Shieldaig, with amazing waterside views, great for watching the sunset. There are grass tent and hardstanding touring pitches, each with an optional 16 amp electric hook up. For glamping, there are three pods with kitchenettes and smart TVs, plus two with ensuite bathrooms and hotel-style interiors. A bar, restaurant and cafe are also within a five minute walk!

Shieldaig Campsite is in a fantastic location, perfect for a west coast visit. There was really good communication with the owners Ruairidh and Hazel prior to our stay. Everything was clear and well marked out. The pitches are flat and have a good view. The facilities were very clean, and there was everything you need. There’s a lovely walk, from the site, round the Shieldaig Peninsula where we were so lucky to see an otter! The hotel was open and welcoming, however, we were a bit early for other facilities in Shieldaig. Excellent all round.

Glamping Pod - Sildvik Ensuite Glamping PodJan 2026

This was the perfect location for a winter retreat and set us up for an amazing New Year exploring in the hills. The pod is very cosy. The heated floor is amazing, the bed is comfy, the facilities are fantastic, the location is perfect, and the view is incredible. The hosts are lovely. We had a lovely few days here to welcome 2026!
