Lovely location and pub

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesJul 2026

The pub and location were lovely, staff were friendly. We only stayed one night due to extreme heat and no shade. The pitches are pretty close together and we were next to a gentleman who was watching TV, that we could hear (all windows open for everyone due to heat), into the small hours. The showers were lovely and hot and plenty of loos whilst they were fairly clean the floors were not and I had to re-wash feet after my shower (might have visited at a bad time?).

Poor facilities

No signage or information on entering site. Tolled by very arrogant male to book in Pub. No pitches marked with lineage. Toilets and showers awful. Dish wash area, food waste. Dogs not kept on leads. Dog mess not picked up. Waste bins full.

Fabulous location

Nice field to park on with electric and water available on electric pitches and quite a few spacious wild camping spaces. Good country pub onsite and the facilities were really nice. My only concern was that nearly all the dogs were off leads. Not a problem for me as our pup was on her lead and loved the dogs coming to to see her and I got to fuss many dogs. If your dog is not keen on other dogs, you may need to be extra vigilant. I would definitely recommend this site and we will definitely stay again.

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesJun 2026

This site is in a prime location, it has massive potential, but sadly meets a low standard of expectation. Poor toilet and shower facilities. Rubbish and dog mess around the site. Pub looks good, but tables were always sticky and "Pie of the week" was microwaved with lashings of gravy whilst the owners/licensees ate take away Chinese in the bar. This site is one of the cheapest in the Cotswolds, you get what you pay for, the location is excellent, but don't expect the facilities to match.

OK, but pitches are variable

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesMay 2026

A very basic undulating field for motorhomes and caravans. Marked pitches have electricity and water but vary in level; some uneven, some flat - choose with care! Having a pub onsite is a definite advantage and a nice pub with good food it is. New facilities are very clean but limited given the capacity of the campsite. But it's a good stop and recommended

Great campsite and great pub. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Campsite had everything you needed and well priced too. Pub has lovely food and great entertainment and again friendly staff and just a great all round atmosphere.

Great find for the night

Amazing find, great stopover for the night. Had a good value meal in the pub, but remember to order at the bar. We were shown our table, sat for a while, then went to the bar to find that's where we had to order😬 Lovely friendly team. Di & Karaoke 🎤 night - great music. Saw negatives on facilities, but honestly fine, corks could do with an upgrade but clean and functional. No complaints. Great vibe.

We will be back!

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesSep 2025

Thank you for a great weekend! This is a fantastic caravan site. Electric and water on the caravan pitches, which is great. Good location, 4 miles to Stratford and 2 minutes drive to nearest shops. Lovely dog walks - there is a very dog friendly park and pub. The pub food is excellent, as is the Saturday night entertainment. The new owner is building a new shower and toilet block, when that is ready this site will be hard to beat. We will definitely be returning

This is very handy site for visiting other places during your stay. The pub and food is great. At the moment the shower facility let's the site down, but apparently they are changing this in the future.

Lovely site, good pub, great location

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesSep 2025

Lovely place to stay, location great, pub fantastic. Men's shower room was small, can't move to turn around to dry and change. Women's fine, lovely showers but only one shower, one toilet but didn't bother us as we went at a quiet period but if busy, could be annoying. If in a caravan, it's perfect. Overall, would stay again.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesAug 2025

Campsite was tightly packed with very uneven ground. One toilet and one shower. There was no soap and toilet paper one morning. The listing had said there was a washing machine, but none available.

Great economic site

Very good campsite, we had a lovely time. The staff in the pub which runs it were friendly and accommodating. Plots with electric hook up also has water tap which was convenient. Having the pub there is ideal, loved having a pint of butty back after getting the tent up 😄😋 Shower and toilet facilities a little 'no frills' but for the price, I can't complain. I would come back here again. Thanks 👍

First trip in a camper van, chose Cottage of Content as the location. Small friendly site in the village of Barton, walking distance to Bideford-on-Avon. Simple booking and check in. Friendly helpful staff, great pub and facilities. Site was clean and well spread out for a great break. Nice walks to Bideford along the canal, dog friendly also and dogs catered for. Would recommend for couples and small families for a wholesome break.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesAug 2025

A nice site to be quite honest, it's only the lack of toilets and showers that let's it down but that said, it's not a big field. With it being a small field however, any noise like dogs barking or excited kids running around and even revellers leaving the pub can be heard all over the field. We are on a mission to find a nice site locally to go to on a regular basis and although it's quite nice and popular, it's not the one for us. It's just that little bit further than we wanted.

The place, the pub was lovely food very good and staff very friendly. There is only one shower and one toilet for males, so not ideal. Also, very outdated and not very clean, really needs upgrading. Overall, okay for a couple of nights.

Lovely pub, but poor camping and unhygienic facilities

Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring PitchesAug 2025

A warm welcome, a really nice pub and lovely food with very generous portion sizes. Sadly, the campsite was extremely disappointing! Although a good location for Bidford-on-Avon, the campsite was dirty and had insufficient site toilets and showers facilities for the amount of people staying - unacceptable! For the amount of designated/undesignated pitches, the toilet facilities were very inadequate - a potential risk waiting to happen, especially with the amount of young children around! There was only 1 toilet/sink and shower for ladies and only 1 toilet/sink and shower for gentlemen. Considering there were 22-25 official pitches with a further 3-5 pitches in the middle of the site, there were insufficient sanitation facilities to cope with the amount of people staying at the site. There was also rubbish all along the hedge and wood line. It would be nice to have had additional toilet and shower facilities provided - maybe 3 more per gender (6 in total). Sadly, a mixed but overall disappointing and poor review of the campsite facilities. The hygiene facilities of the site could be a lot better!

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Touring PitchesAug 2025

Had a lovely time, staff in the pub were very friendly and cheerful. The pub was what you would expect. Only downside there's no food served on Monday and Tuesdays and the pub doesn't open until 4pm. As there is only one male and one female toilet on site, it made it a little difficult. Toilet block could do with updating.

Nice site

Lovely site. Toilets let it down a bit but wouldn't stop us going again.
