Clear filters Beautiful views, friendly sheep and cows
Large Tent - Non Electric Extra Large Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2023 Lovely campsite, plenty of flat spots if you want them - awesome to be able to light a campfire in the provided recycled car wheel fire pit - an idea I will be pinching and using at home. Beautiful vistas of God's own Country, you can see for miles of hills, fells and moors. Night sky would be great for earlier or later in the year when it actually gets properly dark at night, still too light even at 1-2 to see a huge amount- still saw satellites, lots of stars and the odd meteorite.
The owners were friendly, helpful and available if needed, I only had two issues which to be fair are not the campsites fault it is where it is so roads and cars are obligatory issues for us al to deal with, there was a little road noise at times - but that just shows how quiet in general the campsite was - except for bird song, sheep baa-ing and cows mooing and bulls bellowing - very bucolic indeed, occasional tractors - but its the countryside - countryside things happen, I like those kinds of noises.
Secondly and this may be more to do with me, I'm a big lad, than the campsite, was the toilet situation - composting toilets - great!, toilets with a lid that has such a a narrow slit hole in it it made it tricky to clean myself not great (Sorry probably TMI there) - I have a bruise on my hand from catching the edge of the toilet seat, I think there is a knack - either that or just be a lot smaller than me - this would not be tricky for most people , also means that little ones as well as big ones can use the toilets and not fear falling through.
Couple of pubs near by for lovely food, easily walkable if your are fit and healthy, not so easy if you have any physical disability issues, but drivable in 5 minutes at most
Over all I enjoyed my stay - even did a little impromptu assistant shepherding, and would go back again.

Beautiful site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Extra Large Grass Tent Pitches Jul 2023 On arrival, we had a warm welcome. The facilities here are brand new and very clean. Beautiful views surround the camping field. We did a circular walk from the site into the village and enjoyed visiting the two pubs with our dogs. We weren't blessed with the best of weather so the fire pit was a welcome addition to our pitch. We'd definitely stay again.

Small Tent - Non Electric Extra Large Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2023 Brilliant campsite!
Toilets were modern, new and clean. Showers were also new, warm and clean. Great facilities for washing up.
Owners were very friendly. Good to have a fire in the fire pits provided.
Beautiful surrounding landscape.
Would happily camp here again and recommend to others!

The facilities were the best I've seen. The fellow campers were so polite also. I cannot recommend this campsite enough, will be coming back 1000%

Perfect site, perfect stay
Medium Tent - Large Non Electric Grass Tent Pitch Jun 2023 Genuinely one of the best campsites we have ever stayed at, we're already planning when we can return!
Loved the easy going, find your own spot and pitch attitude of the site and the fact the sites were car free. The facilities were always clean and well maintained, and having access to a space indoors to charge devices and hide out from the rain was a welcome treat.
The included fire pits on the pitches were a lovely added bonus too! Magnus couldn't have done more or been a better host, we can't wait to return.

Fantastic site
Small Tent - Non Electric Extra Large Grass Tent Pitches Jun 2023 Really great site! Lovely site in a picturesque location. Plenty of space, excellent shower and toilet facilities, drinking water, good parking, you can enjoy a campfire, and a very short walk to the village. Friendly staff and useful welcome email from the site.
