Spot on Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Spot on site beautiful location easy to access great staff the facilities were clean and all working as they should the price without a hookup probably represents the location and facilities and staff but all round good site would happily go back or recommend.
Well organised site within walking distance to Brokenhurst Recommends site
Roof Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Great campsite in a beautiful woodland setting.
The facilities were clean, well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and respectful. We enjoyed some lovely walks straight from the campsite and it was very dog-friendly, which was perfect for me and my Cockapoo. The nearby pub was an added bonus.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay and somewhere I'd happily return.
Absolutely beautiful lovely place lovely staff Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 The New Forest is just beautiful and Holland Woods Campsite is amazing. Lots of camping spaces, staff are very friendly and helpful. They have hot showers which are kept very clean, and the toilets are too. They have dog washes, clean drinking water, wash room for laundry, and lockers where you can charge your things. Each locker has a plug socket, x2 USB ports. Just need a medium size padlock to keep them safe. The room gets locked from 8 at night until 9am, so you know they are safe.
There is a wash room for you to do washing and dry clothes, you have to pay. You have all your basic needs and you can pitch wherever you want. You have too be 5 meters away from another tent on either side. You can have barbecues from morning until dust, but not after, and no camp fires, sent stick burners, candles, as your in the forest.
You have horses and their babies come around, also cattle. It is just beautiful. The staff do the rounds all day and evening to make sure everyone is ok and follow the very reasonable rules.
I went with my friend and my 7 month puppy who has never been before, and the first night I was up every hour as people where walking around with torches and opening car doors past 11:30, when you're not meant to after 10:30. So my puppy kept barking as the light kept coming in our tent, and doors slamming constantly kept her barking.
So I had a word with the guys that ran the place the next morning, even though I did have to ask the people twice, and another one too at 11:55, to turn their lights off. But the forest people where amazing, and they had a word with the people, and they where better the 2nd night, but did go in their cars a few times. My puppy fell asleep at 11 ish with us and woke up at 7:50 Sunday morning, no barking, so they are there to help if you're having trouble with other campers.
But I would 100% recommend this campsite, as the staff are amazing, very helpful. If you need help, they will help you. They check on the campsite. The campsite is beautiful, clean, and just so relaxing in nature. You can obviously go off camp during the day, but the gate does get locked at 10pm, but you can walk in still.
They even have a little shop for basics. You can get coffee, tea, etc. from the café shop, ice, ice creams. They even provide bricks that you can use if you want to raise your BBQ off the ground. Your not allowed disposable BBQs though.
You can walk to the local village that is about 20 min walk, which have lovely pubs, train stations. You can hire bike for a really good price for the day and cycle around the other parts of New Forest, which is amazing. You see the cattle, horses, baby fowls, little pony's. It's just beautiful.
The price me and my friend paid between us was £61 for two days and two nights, which is cheap and amazing. They are dog friendly too.
We went to Hurst Castle, which was amazing, only took a 30 min car ride. Then you can either get ferry over for £8.50 return, and the castle is £9.50. You can takes dog. They have a little cafe which isn't expensive at all, it's the same as a Costa Coffee price. Even the gift shop is very reasonable priced too.
But the New Forest is amazing. Hollands Wood campsite is beautiful and friendly. Staff who are very help full, the campers are friendly too, and when we asked a bloke if he could help us with one little thing, he did.
So highly recommend this campsite and the New Forest.
Short stay in the New Forest Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Set amongst the trees just outside Brockenhurst. Easy walk to the pubs and on the New Forest walking/biking trails.. Good camp facilities.
Beautiful tranquil site Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Great place to stay to chill in nature with lots of birds, ponies and deer etc. very quiet and peaceful. Everything works - be aware no electric hook ups.
The Huntsman us 10-15 minutes walk away for good food and beer.
What’s not to like!
Perfect Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 The most magical place to take our five year old for a week of really feeling IN nature. Cycling straight into the forest from the campsite was what we wanted and that’s what we got. A front row seat to the ponies was amazing. I don’t know how you could beat that for a campsite in the UK. Already planning the next trip. Loved it.
will definitely be coming back Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Lovely staff lovely location clean and tidy would recommend
lovely wooded pitch with ponies etc Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Lovely spot to relax and enjoy the new forest with shaded pitches and excellent facilities. Quite close to a main road in places so pick pitch carefully if you want a quieter night. First visit, definitely returning
Gorgeous site but sole noisy campers Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Amazing site, camping among the trees. Good and clean shower facilities. Open access to Balmer Lawn common, so ponies and cattle wander through the tents as they please (love this).
Shower and toilet blocks of a good standard and clean. No overnight wardens so was very noisy 2/3 nights that we stayed.
Easy walk to Brockenhurst 'beach' for paddling and walkable to awesome pub 'The Pig' and Brockenhurst.
Very chilled and peaceful Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 I was worried that being close to the road would mean it was noisy, but actually it was surprisingly quiet and the road was just a background hum.
The pitches were spacious and because they weren't marked it almost felt like wild camping near other people. The site was busy when we were there, full I think, but it didn't feel like that. Instead, it was quiet and calm, no noisy or rowdy people, everyone kept to themselves and were polite and friendly when you did interact.
Overall, we had a really lovely stay, and will definitely be back.
Really great stay . Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Really enjoyed our stay at Hollands wood .
It was our second stay , really good site for the family .
Good value clean campsite Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Good value clean campsite, but took too many bookings!
A lovely forest campsite conveniently located between Brockenhurst & Lyndhurst with great walking and cycling routes in both directions.
The facilities are plentiful and cleaned regularly. However, the pitches 'road side' are extremely close to the road and it is a busy one! It meant our pitch was not peaceful and we could hear traffic throughout the night.
Additionally, the campsite took far too many bookings in my opinion so we were rather crammed in and very close to other campers.
Get a pitch away from the road and on a quieter weekend and it would be 5/5.
Fine but constantly watched and policed Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Location was nice and staff reasonably pleasant, but even though we followed every rule, we felt overly observed the whole time, with staff coming up to tents and constantly asking questions to check every rule was being followed - it made it hard to relax. Maybe charge by people, not tents, to save on constant pestering.
Showers should run for longer than 5 seconds. It's incredibly annoying that it stops every time you turn around.
Friendly Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Very good for all facilities staff friendly
Perfect Spot Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Just an over night. Great spot , bathrooms were clean. All facilities great.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Lovely staff and gorgeous campsite! Loved the horses and the area (lots of great walks and pubs etc). Super clean facilities too! Would recommend - from Issy and Aimée
Stunning location everything you need in a beautiful setting Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Really lovely staff, just lovely in every way. Facilities really clean, site tidy with no litter, and wonderful staff. We walked to Lyndhurst and got the bus back, a lovely day out.
April weekend break Recommends site
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Easy check in. Slow drive to find a spot as not allocated. Poor phone reception but charging area for small devices.
We'll be back! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 A large, clean and spacious campsite on the edge of moorland with horses walking nearby and friendly and helpful staff.
The road is a bit noisy but not bad and the early morning birdsong in the surrounding trees made up for it. There are walks nearby and the site is ca 20 minute walking distance of Brockenhurst with some good pubs and restaurants.
We ate somewhere different every night and on the way back we popped into the Balmer Lawn Hotel which is almost next door to the campsite for a drink at the bar.
Great service and helpful staff! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 The facilities are well taken care of and the staff are really, really, really friendly. Alfie helped us to jump start the battery after leaving the doors open for too long. He was extremely helpful. Amazing service for real!
The location is beautiful but we made the mistake of camping too close to the main road, which is quite busy.
Hollands wood campsite review Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2026 Very peaceful and immerive campsite, lots of trees and ponies!
Pitches Recommends site
Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Having set up on Friday morning and then going out, I left a cone on my pitch which I checked with the wardens, as I was next to my son/daughter in law and grandchildren. I came back and someone had driven around my cone and set up their van. When I approached her all she said was oh sorry did not see it. How inconsiderate some people are.
Lovely stay as a group of friends Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Really lovely location and great facilities and for such a good value for money.
We were 5 adults in a big tepee tent and we had such a great time - especially with such an easy walk to Brockenhurst for any extra snacks that we might desire!
Everyone on the campsite was polite and it was amazing seeing all the horses walking by in the morning.
Great site Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Sep 2025 Everything was great about this site except maybe the toilets were temperamental about flushing 🙈
Was a busy weekend on site and not many people took notice of the quiet after 10pm rule and cars were driving around site quite late at night, otherwise was lovely.
Lovely peaceful place Recommends site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Visited with my two children for the first time, really enjoyed it, lovely place. Lots of things to do.
Have all said we would go back again (hopefully when weather is better) and do a longer stay.
