Great site at reasonable cost
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Oct 2025 Great site at reasonable cost, basic and clean with lovely virws, best thing is they allow you to have your own fire pit if raised off the ground which makes the nights cozey!!

We were the only campers on site - might feel different if it was full (with over 40 pitches!)

Really good site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2025 Really good site was the first time camping in Cumbria, would recommend it to anyone that wants a remote camp site, close to shops and pubs around a 10 minute drive.
Facilities also clean and cater for many people so not a lot of queue's. Site is very clean no rubbish and viewpoints upon the hill for sunsets and sunrises.

Stunning views, good facilities but limited for the amount of people on the site. Otherwise, had an amazing time, would recommend.

Ideal for all age groups and a good variety of pitch types. The facilities were very clean and the site looked well managed.
Tip: On the final approach, drive slowly so you don't miss the entrance like I did!

A small site with simple facilities
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches May 2025 This is a small site with views over rolling hills.
The facilities are simple but clean. The only fault was a broken solar light in the gents toilets. This is an excellent stopover point for the lakes or Scotland.
Large motorhomes should note the lanes to it are small but still navigable.

Brief but pleasant stay
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Apr 2025 We had a very brief one night stay. Arrived very late and left very early. This was nothing to do with the site, just our journey circumstances.
However, the communication was excellent and it was very straightforward to arrive, pitch and let the owners know despite our very late arrival. It was nice and quiet and the facilities, although not plentiful, were clean and tidy. It's a good location to get back on the M6 after being in the Lakes.
Perfect back to basics campsite!
