Good location
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches (Adult Only) Jul 2025 Very good welcome and personally taken to our pitch.
Slightly too many pitches on the adult only field, the tents on the ends of the grass middle part made it feel a little packed in.
Amazing extras with a mobile pub and various food options. We loved the fact we could walk to Hope and Castleton and the bus and train looked very well used by campers. All together convenient. We walked from the site during our stay to Castleton one day and over to Lady Bower the other day. Absolutely spot in location. Showers busy.
Only real, very very minor criticism, is you could not dry your hands in the toilet area but had to open the door with wet hands and go to the hand dryer by the door which then automatically opened, it seems a strange system.
Overall, highly recommend the site, a lot of thought has gone into the set up and catering for the needs of campers.
Stay in our motorhome
Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 Site was very busy but there was no noise at night except a slight noise from the nearby road.
Plenty of choice for food at the weekend. New shower block is well designed and clean. Close to Hope and a lovely walk across the fields to Castleton though a few styles.
Excellent dog walking field a short walk out of the park. Would recommend this site!
Excellent campsite

Very nice facilities that were cleaned frequently and lovely hot showers. They also had a fish and chip van on a Saturday night, and a horse van bar and breakfast van on weekends. We stayed in a tent and the medium pitch size was perfect for a 4/5 man. Will definitely be staying again. Very strict noise restrictions from 10.30 which suited us completely.
Has ping-pong and a nice covered seating area. Close to lovely pubs and walks straight from the site. Really loved our stay and will be back soon!
Great stay
VW-Type Campervan - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jul 2025 Great place very well managed and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great pubs within walking distance. Comfortable walk into Castleton for food at The George. Caught a train to Edale, lovely pubs too. Well worth a visit. Only one stop up from Hope, the service was very good.
Facilities were spot on. Clean and well maintained. All you need for your stay.

Medium Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jul 2025 Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed our experience with Laneside, We have camped out before but he always wanted to do Castleton. The site was brilliant it was looked after had amazing facilities friendly and close to where we needed to be.
For me I loved the morning wake up call from the cattle in the fields it reminds you where you are. We would definitely recommend and definitely be returning.

Weeks stay at Laneside
Trailer Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jul 2025 It was a straightforward journey to the site, and gaining entry using the code emailed was great.
The welcome was good, everything explained, and we were guided to our pitch. The location was fine, pitch was a bit sloping, but not a problem. The site was well designed and maintained, with a small dog area on site, and a larger one a short walk along the road, also a playing field here.
The shop at reception was useful, and shops were available not far from site. Facilities were good, clean and tidy, the newer block was preferable to the older one. It was unfortunate that these were closed from about 4pm for at least two hours for cleaning, I felt that it would have been better to clean the older unit at this time.
The number of showers in each block was limited, I thought, for the size of the site, but as the pitches were mostly for caravans and motorhomes this was not a problem.
The area was beautiful, with lots to do and see. The walk into Hope village took 10 minutes, and the food at the Old Hall was excellent.
We intend to return to this site, hopefully next year.

Small Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Lovely site and staff, bar, shop & food van onsite. Everyone was so friendly even other guests. Park was kept clean and well maintained.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay here for a couple weekend getaway, we will definitely be returning.

This is a fabulous campsite, clean, tidy, great facilities and staff are more than 5 star!
I would definitely stay here again. Five minute walk into Hope, and a short bus ride to Castleton. Excellent.

Lovely, secluded campsite surrounded by the countryside
Medium Tent - Large Electric Grass Pitches (Adult Only) Jul 2025 We were greeted on entry and the campsite and rules were explained to us before being shown to our pitch.
I felt the part of the site we were on was nicely spaced out and we didn't feel cramped. Electric socket right at our pitch. Toilet block a short walk away which was always clean. A good amount of sinks in an outside wash station and even a doggy wash station. It was lovely and quiet and had no issues with any unwanted noise.
We were barely on site so didn't get to use the additional facilities such as the shop, the bike hire and ping pong tables. Minor minor quibble would be road noise from around 5am. But if it wasn't near that road, it wouldn't be as convenient.

Nice but no privacy VW-Type Campervan - Large Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025 Nice site in a nice setting, we arrived late so had to find the pitch ourselves which is fine but the map is not accurate, whole sections of the site not shown so it's confusing.
Our pitch was a decent size but very uneven and a digger parked on the side. Felt like we were overlooking the riverside tents and we were overlooked by the caravans. We had people wandering onto our pitch to look over the fence to the riverside pitches and just generally felt like we had no privacy.
Good facilities and great selection of visiting food trucks.
Lovely campsite
Jun 2025 Very nice quiet well kept campsite, showers are spotless, ideal location, bus stop outside the gate to just about anywhere, beautiful walks, can't go wrong.

Medium Tent - Medium Non Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2025 Good site, good standard of cleanliness, location good. Be aware that some areas are a bit noisier, due to group activities. Not bad but can be annoying.
