Very good campsite
Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 We absolutely loved this campsite. First time camping with my 1 year old who had so much fun.
The facilities were clean and never full. A very large pitch. The only thing I wish that there was a mop or brush to brush the mud out the shower. A children’s play park would also be a good addition
The lady who was cleaning Monday morning was lovely.
The shops are only a 10 minute drive with places like Dominos delivery. We will be back.
Very noisy Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 When we arrived we were shown our pitch, a nice area to pitch up, ground had a few rocks so a few tent pegs didn't survive, no biggy.
There was a very large group in the middle of the pitch, approx 10 small tents surrounding a gazebo. They were noisy up 'til late. The children and adults used any spare land to play ball games, a little annoying at 10pm and when the ball is landing on your car.
We ignored most of this as much as we could. The main noise you can't do anything about is the flight path and main road noise. It ramps up at around 5am.
Unfortunately, due to this, we won't be back. The toilets are nice and clean. Men's showers were dirty. There is a communal fridge and small freezer which we didn't realise was there.

Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 This campsite was brilliant, pitches were spacious. The lady running it was friendly and approachable, the toilets and showers were regularly cleaned.
The on site food van "The Yak Shack" was lovely, the price was a little steep but it's what is to be expected for a private food van. The price reflected the quality of food, which was exceptional! We will definitely be returning in the future.

VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2026 Another lovely stay. In walking distance to the river/canal, lovely setting with a choice of pubs to eat at.
Staff at Hill Farm are great and nothing is too much trouble.

Bell Tent - Lotus Belle Tents (Dog Friendly) Aug 2026 We had a good time at Hill Farm. One comment we would make is to have some kind a table/cupboard in the tent to put items on rather than the floor.
A very nice place to stay
Glamping Pod - Plus Glamping Pods with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly) Aug 2026 The site was well set out and well run. There was plenty of space around each tent, pod etc.The glamping pod was a good choice for me. It was well equipped and comfortable. There were options for cooking -bbq, microwave, very nice food van - and plenty of outside seating to accommodate friends and family. All in all, this was a very relaxing place to be.
Lucky break but poor value
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 I exchanged 3 days in a tent for 2 nights in a pod at short notice. I was a single person. While I was lucky you'd had a cancellation, I felt £130 a night was excessive. I had no need of the BBQ or the Hot Tub (not my thing really). I was pleased with the fridge and the hot/cold running water but I would welcome a £60 refund under the circumstances.

Great stay
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Me and three others from uni stayed at hill farm for a celebratory stay after passing our second year at uni. The campsite was clean and staff were so friendly and helpful. We also had the option to hire a hot tub on the site and at a great price too! Facility’s were clean and constantly checked up on by staff.
Will be coming back.
Aldi, Greggs and Costa 5 min drive away which is ideal!

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2026 Lovely site, easy to get to although a few signs down the lane by the canal bridge would help, a lovely welcome when we pulled up and escorted to our pitch. Every thing you need is there with onsite breakfast and a visiting ice cream van on the afternoon we will definitely be staying again we loved it

Bell Tent - Lotus Belle Tents (Dog Friendly) May 2026 Really lovely stay here in one of the spacious belle tents. Friendly welcome on arrival, a great food shack for quick-and-easy eats, and everything was clean and well-maintained. The spot by the pond was really lovely. Would stay here again.

Food van onsite - we didn't use but looked good. Ice cream van visits - we did purchase. Staff always about if required. Busy but quiet. The Brookfield Pub and the Ragley Boat Stop both very good pubs nearby, we had food at both.
Would return.

Glamping Pod - Standard Glamping Pods with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly) May 2026 Very impressed. We were lucky enough to stop during a heat wave so we could have pretended we were abroad!! The location was easy to find and very well looked after. Clean and well maintained amenities and very friendly staff. Good to note that if you are staying in a glamping pod, ours had tea, coffee, cutlery, plates and cups. It doesn't mention this on the site as I presume that they generalise as the tents probably don't. Highly recommend.

Glamping Pod - Plus Glamping Pods with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly) May 2026 We have had the loveliest stay at Hill Farm. We would 100% recommend it. The facilities are wonderful and so clean and the staff are so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 I've stayed at this site two successive years now and each time I love the views overlooking the fields, quiet, peaceful surroundings.
I pick the remote corner of the site with no electric, mature trees and hedgerows for protection from the elements and although it feels like wild camping, I still have all the facilities (clean hot showers and food some days) if and when required.
Just a short trip away from Derby but far enough away to appreciate countryside walks along canal paths and rolling fields.
I look forward to next years stay already and I only left this morning.
Noisy Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches May 2026 Constant traffic, aircraft noise and very noisy group in the centre of the site till 2.00am, to be honest we couldn't wait to leave. The traffic noise you can't do anything about, but if you're having groups you need some sort of security unless that's the sort of customers you want?
We didn't use the facilities, so can't comment on those or cleanliness.
