Lovely campsite

I stayed here for 2 nights next to the river. I was slightly disappointed as you can't actually see the river from your tent, neither can you get to it. I had a warm welcome from Claire who showed me around. There is a converted caravan with everything you need. Kettles, microwave, sockets, shop, shower, bath. I didn't really need to take anything with me, apart from my tent. I didn't like the fact someone was having a shave in the kitchen sink, nor did i like catching my neighbour peeing outside his tent but that's nothing to do with the campsite. Don't book the river spot if you can't be bothered to walk to facilities as it is a fair distance. You can walk to Walkmill Castle, which is great.

Great site

Absolutely spot on site. Pitches are more than big enough, nice flat area, great views. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, greeted us as we arrived on site. All the amenities were very clean and well looked after. Would definitely come back again!

Campervan stay

Beautiful, peaceful overnight stay in an unspoilt natural area. Immaculately clean toilets and showers. Very well stocked honesty shop. Fabulous rural setting with welcoming friendly hosts.

Fabulous site

Lovely site. Well spaced pitches, friendly staff and nice little honesty shop and use of social spaces. Bathroom/shower room and toilets and kitchen sink in static caravan. Very quiet and peaceful site, really enjoyed our short stay and it's dog friendly.

Walkmill campsite

A beautiful campsite in a lovely spot. Great place to camp to be near various places. We had a great weekend camping and got to see a lot of Northumberland. Only 1 heated shower on the site so we did have to wait a little white to use it, but overall, a clean and welcoming place.

Wonderful campsite

Beautiful campsite in a lovely location. Everything absolutely spot on! (Apart from the rain). But Nick, the host, promised us sunshine at 7am the next morning and he kept his promise. We will be back - cannot recommend this campsite enough

Very peaceful and beautiful site

Lovely situation and very quiet and peaceful. Friendly owners. The facilities however were a bit lacking - only one hot shower and an uncovered washing up place.

Lovely site - highly recommend

Stayed for just one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The site is spacious and peaceful and within easy reach of local attractions. Appreciate that the owner has limited the number of pitches. Facilities exceeded our expectations. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Excellent campsite with spacious pitches

Lovely campsite, nice spacious pitches, with the added benefit of picnic tables. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Me and my family will definitely be returning.

Beautiful, natural campsite

We stayed as a family of 6 at Walkmill. The location is beautiful with lots of birds flying over and owls at night. The toilets were always very clean and the option of both the eco and standard showers was great. There was a well stocked self service shop - very useful. Claire and Nick were extremely friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back.

Lovely site

Lovely, peaceful site with spacious pitches and lots of green space. Fantastic facilities in large caravan with fridge/freezer, power points, 2 quiet rooms, shower and 4 toilets. Honesty shop and lots of books and information leaflets. Welcoming hosts and a really enjoyable week.

Great place to stay, just no hot showers but everything else was 10/10.

Thank you for leaving a review and delighted you appreciated our site. Just to address the point about 'no hot showers', we do have a hot shower which is located in the main facilities, however upon investigation it would appear we had run out of gas. Normally we would get a red flag marker when a gas bottle is empty which hasn't happened this time. I wasn't aware of a problem until I saw your review. Upon asking remaining guests it does appear to have been within the last 48 hours, but all is now functioning as it should be.

Relaxed Camping

Beautiful campsite and perfect location. Had a very relaxing four days.

What a great site, definitely recommend

This was my daughter and I's first experience of a campervan. Have always stayed under canvas. Extremely welcoming, great little site, quiet but easy to get to off the A1. Used it as a 1 night stop on route to Scotland. I would definitely go back. Nearby beaches are stunning. My daughter highly recommends the farmhouse sausages they sell as well. Oh and it's dog friendly!

Northumbrian tranquility

Lovely location, so peaceful and tranquil, yet close enough to the town to walk into. Polite, friendly and excellent hosts who were more than willing to help. Will return again!

Lovely peaceful site

This site is lovely, it's really peaceful and tranquil with beautifully kept grounds. There are two eco-showers, which are lovely if you want a cold shower, but there was frequently a queue for the one hot shower. The owners are lovely and very attentive, everything is spotlessly clean and there's a little honesty shop for some tasty treats and logs for the fire pits, which are available to rent.

Lovely quiet location with an easy drive to beach

Amazing campsite, really peaceful, even when full. A few more toilets and showers would be perfect but the owners were really lovely and the spots are perfect.

Lovely peaceful site

Absolutely loved staying here. Such a well kept site with loads of room and peaceful surroundings. Lovely shop with local produce (it's not manned so make sure you have cash for the honesty box). The toilets and shower are in the static caravan and are open 7am to 9pm (after this point there is nowhere to do teeth / get washed). There is only 1 shower catering for a high number of campers, but it is a really nice shower. They are building outside cold showers. There are outside toilets in two sheds, which are perfectly fine to use, but no sinks (hand sanitiser is provided). A really lovely stay and we will 100% be back. Highly recommend.

Just a couple of points to clarify for people reading your review. Customers can also pay for goods from the shop either by bacs (details provided) or card as we do have a portable card reader on site. One of our eco-showers is up and running and available for use 24hrs (the temperature of the water yesterday was 21 degrees) and the second will be completed over the next couple of weeks. We also have solar bags and other alternative camping showers that people can fill with warm water to use in the shower huts, or they can use the huts with their own camping showers if preferred.
