Clear filters Lovely campsite with excellent hospitality
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Warm welcome by our hostess on arrival. Showing the facilities and taking us to our pitch which was ample space for our tent.
Other campers were friendly and as we have a dog he wasn't left out as there was a other dogs on site which he got on with being a sociable dog.
Facilities on site were excellent, clean and tidy.
Overall we had a lovely time and we will be going back in the near future.

Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2023 Very warm welcome on arrival and electric pitch was a good size and flat.
Good facilities with hot showers and washing up area.
Good location for Rye, Winchelsea, Camber Sands and a trip to Dungeness is a must.
Lovely campsite
Small Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 Great campsite and facilities, even a microwave. Only downside was the weather lol, not their fault. Would definitely stay again.
Hare and Hounds
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 Absolutely loved it at the Hare and Hounds, but unfortunately had to leave early due to bad weather. We will be back and have already recommended it to other people.

Great campsite and convenient bell tent
Bell Tent - Bell Tents Jul 2023 We were squeezing in a camping trip between other commitments, so it was great to use the bell tent with almost everything we needed waiting there for us. We all slept really well and enjoyed our weekend in and around Rye. Added bonus of a nice walk down to the town.
Friendly campsite with a good set up and facilities. We are already planning to go back.
Really lovely place to stay
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 Stayed here for wo nights, the facilities were great and we were made to feel really welcome.
The owners were ever so helpful when we had a tent disaster (massive rip) on the second day due to the wind and lent us a tent for the night.
The campsite is conveniently located within walking distance from Rye and also Tillingham Vineyard, which was the main reason for our stay.
Overall great campsite, we would recommend.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2023 A bit basic but is very well located with local pubs/restaurants and is an easy short bus route into Rye.

Beds were very comfortable. Very clean. Quiet site.
Short drive to Rye and Camber Sands beach. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Our stay
Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 The campsite was very nice and compact, with only 2 men's and women's showers each, though never had to wait.
Nice pub within walking distance and Rye is only a couple of miles away. Lovely supermarket in Peamarsh village, 2 miles up the road. Must visit Rye Harbour and have a meal at the William the Conquerer pub.
Have to be very careful exiting the site, as the exit is on a blind bend.
Amazing stay
Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jun 2023 Absolutely lovely campsite. The facilities are lovely and the owners were extremely welcoming. Lovely walk into Rye Town. Nice pub up the road and a supermarket in walking distance.
Supermarket is not open on a Sunday and the bus does not run on a Sunday.

Walks from the site into Rye, and a pub offering food just a few mins walk away.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 I stayed at H&H for 3 nights. Thoroughly recommended. Charging facilities, very clean utilities, and both owners were so helpful and polite. The security of the site was never in question and fresh water was constant. Bricks were available for barbecues and those starry starry nights were amazing!
The distance from the town of Rye (3 miles) would only be a problem for people who are not used to walking, although in saying that, the paths I felt weren't that clear if you did fancy a jaunt to Rye. The town of course is a real beauty and I wish I had longer to enjoy its gifts. But as a base to work or drive from, Hare and Hounds is perfect. Really good value for money. I'd heavily recommend it!
Peace and quiet
Large Tent - Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2022 Really peaceful site with hot, clean showers, lots of toilets and the owners/staff really helpful.
Pub a 5 minute walk away, a 7 minute drive to the lovely picturesque town of Rye and a 10 minute drive to Camber Sands and Winchelsea beach. Fully recommend.
A great tay
Bell Tent - Bell Tents Aug 2022 A really nice two night stay on a friendly campsite with really good facilities. We found having a fridge freezer available to be a real bonus.
Ideal campsite to visit Rye
Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2022 This was a very friendly welcoming site, not large, but well equipped with the must have facilities - toilets, showers, washing up area, fire pits etc. Close to a main road which makes access very easy for a motorhome. The location is ideal for visiting places of interest in the area. We enjoyed a trip to Rye which you can reach on foot (50 minutes) across the fields or by bus which stops just outside the campsite. Would definitely stay there again.
Lovely weekend break
VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2022 Lovely clean and quiet campsite. We left our Campervan on-site all weekend and used our bikes to ride to Rye about 5 miles, then onto Camber sands another 3 miles going through quiet country lanes away from traffic. Rye is less by car but only negative is the busy main road, at night but really wouldn't put us off coming to this campsite again 😁👍
