A note from the site themselves...

Originally Stone Farm, the property was purchased by Samuel Lang, the brother-in-law of the Duke of Bedford. Alongside this, previous owners include the family of the writer and poet, Coleridge. The house was originally a country hotel for many years and then in the 1960's was split into two and became the camping park you see today.

The new owners, Jane and David were previously Dairy farmers from Lancashire, and have been at Langstone since 1999. Expect a warm welcome and great customer service when you visit this family friendly park!

Motorhome - Grass PitchesAug 2023

Great short stay. Quiet park with very clean facilities. Cute Manor House and restaurant with a small games room. Staff very friendly, courteous and informative. Darren the chef kindly let us taste his excellent tagine he was making. Only downside was the weather, though we did manage a climb to the Tor behind the site and kids were chuffed to find some geo caches. Would recommend.

Great off the grid camping

You're surrounded by the Dartmoor National Park here, ideal for family trips spotting the wildlife and days out to the stunning Tamar Valley AONB. The park can arrange delivery of bikes in case you need to hire one for your daytrip too. Laze under the sun at any of the beaches nearby too, including Looe and Wembury, or kick back by the Cornish coast at Polzeath - a popular surfing spot! Tavistock's bustling town centre is ideal for picnics by the riverside, or why not sample a Devon pastie at their indoor market.

With so much luxury countryside around, walking and cycling around the area is an attraction in itself. There are great cycle ways around Tavistock and on Dartmoor - both on the moor and purpose built cycle ways. If you need to hire bikes, delivery can be arranged to the park.

The Tamar Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you can see its stunning scenery by canoeing, tree surfing or, for something a little different, capturing its charm with a bit of landscape painting.

Tavistock is a bustling market town and is great for a sweet stroll before lunch! Shops, cafes, riverside parkland and an indoor pannier market - some great pasties to be tried in the town for a real Devon experience!

Days out at the seaside are the best in this part of the world. Here in the South West there is an amazing coastline, and top picks would be cosy coves like Wembury near Plymouth and the popular fishing seaside town of Looe. For surfing, head straight to beaches like Polzeath on the North Cornwall coast.

Other top attractions include:

  • Drakes Cycle Trail - Tavistock to Plymouth using the old railway
  • The Granite Way - Okehampton to Lydford using the old railway
  • Eden Project - St Austell
  • Cholwell Horseriding Centre on Dartmoor
  • Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre
  • A great selection of National Trust properties
