About the site

You will find a variety of pitches for camping and touring set across three acres of level, mature landscaped grounds with excellent drainage at this adult only site (aged 18+). The site is surrounded by natural hedgerows, creating a haven for wildlife and offering lovely views towards Salcombe. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all welcome, and there is also a range of glamping options available. This well-established site has been welcoming campers since 1971. In fact, the owners' grandparents opened one of the first campsites in the South Hams area, and it has been going strong ever since. Nature lovers will enjoy exploring the grounds, where primroses and stitchwort flourish in the hedgerows, seasonal flower beds are carefully tended, and resident wildlife is often spotted. All pitches, including grass and gravel options, have 16-amp electric hook-up, a mains water tap and grey-waste drainage. Premier pitches feature en-suite washrooms, while Deluxe pitches offer private washroom facilities and a utility room with dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer, ideal for campers looking for extra comfort and privacy. For a comfortable stay, cosy glamping pods are available, each equipped with a double bed, seating and mini kitchen, along with a small garden area, ideal for alfresco dining. Private washroom facilities can be reserved with selected pods, or guests may use the shared facilities conveniently located nearby. For something a little different, stay in Estuary View, an attractive shepherd's hut with a double bed, sofa, and TV, kept warm with central heating. Just a few steps away is your own private shower, toilet and mini kitchen with dining area, exclusively for hut guests. Alternatively, Garden View is a cosy cabin featuring a double bed, sofa and TV, along with its own mini kitchen and en-suite facilities. Just off the A381, the site is well placed for exploring the surrounding area, with a bus stop located at the site entrance with services to Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Totnes. Please note that dogs are not permitted.

The site is open all year with the exception of Estuary view and the fully serviced grass pitches which open in April. Pitches from £45/night for 2 people.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Small Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

This was to be our first stay in our campervan which we picked up that day. We were met on our arrival and shown to our pitch. The facilities were excellent. Bathroom with P bath or a shower room separate for men and women. Always spotless. A separate cloakroom if that was all that was needed. Washing machines were available but not required for our two night stay. Wi-Fi was good for monitoring email etc. Excellent grey waste area and disposal of toilet waste. A bus stop outside the park entrance meant a trip into Kingsbridge was so easy, no need to take our campervan. Great first trip 😁

Lovely friendly owners, wouldn't hesitate to return.

A note from the site themselves...

Established in 1971, our campsite has always been more than just a place to stay — it's been our home. I've been running the site while living here too, continuing a family tradition that began with my great grandparents, who opened the very first campsite in the South Hams.

Camping is part of our heritage, and that spirit still shapes everything we do today. While the heart of the site remains rooted in traditional camping and touring, we've gently evolved over the years to include glamping, upgraded facilities, and pitches with private or ensuite washrooms.

I'm not entirely sure what my Grandfather would make of some of the modern additions — but I think he'd be pleased to see that the sense of welcome, simplicity, and love for the outdoors remains unchanged.

Whether you arrive with a tent, a touring caravan, or opt for a little extra comfort, we hope you'll feel at home here and enjoy camping as it's meant to be.

Or head straight to the seaside resort of Salcombe, famous for its sailing, seafood (Salcombe Crab), and stunning views.
