About Redwood Valley

Located on the England/Wales border in a 25-acre woodland dominated by 50+ magnificent oak trees - some of which are believed to be 400+ years old - Redwood Valley is a low-impact glamping site. The redwood tree from which the site gets its name is some 50 metres tall! The two 19ft yurts, Eilian and Seren, are equally beautiful and romantic. Eilian is a handpainted Mongolian ger, while Seren is a Turkmen yurt. Both are set on raised platforms, with a handmade kingsize bed, plus double and single futons, electric lighting, wind up lanterns, and a log burning stove. Outside you'll find a spring water tap, BBQ fire pit and seating. The treetop cabin is perched high on a wooded slope, with spectacular views overlooking the valley where its wood was sourced. The cabin sleeps three with a double bed and L-shaped day bed. There's also a fridge, log burner, coffee making facilities, and wooden walkway to your private and luxurious composting loo. Like the yurts, the cabin has a spring water tap, BBQ fire pit and seating - and you'll find total peace, relaxing in the hammock on the balcony and listening to the birds and babbling stream below. Dogs (except service dogs) are unfortunately not accepted. Firewood is provided for your log burner and campfire.

Redwood Valley is open from 29/03 to 02/11.

Facilities and amenities

Guests share access to a superb woodland kitchen, with fridges, gas hobs, microwave, toaster and the like, as well as board games and books. Next to the kitchen is the site's bathroom facilities, with gas-heated shower, changing area and complimentary biodegradable shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.

All water comes from the site's own fresh spring, treated with UV to ensure that it's safe for drinking. Grey wastewater is managed through an underground soak-away. A composting loo is nearby, with a rainwater hand basin (the cabin has its own similar, private toilet). The town of Presteigne is a little under a mile away, with four pubs and an array of shops and eateries.

A note from the site themselves...

The lovely 25 acres of woodland that you see today hasn't always been this way. When we arrived in 1995 the woods were neglected and it has taken years of hard work to make the place we happily share with you today.

We want to invite you here in the hopes we can create a sustainable business allowing the future generations of our family to maintain the woodlands as they are now.

A lot of what we do here is focused on being low impact on the wildlife and landscape, using recycled and eco-friendly products and materials where we can.

We look forward to welcoming you and should you have any questions or interests in the work we do here we will be happy to talk to you about it all and share our passion.
