Beaches and coastal villages are within easy reach, as is the local town of Dumfries (20 minutes) with all its amenities. Bird friendly hedges and borders have been planted on the site to enhance wildlife and provide a relaxing ambience and privacy. There are views over Criffel Hill and the surrounding countryside. There are friendly goats and a mini museum of vintage tractors and implements. A guided tour is available on request. The historic village of New Abbey is a 15 minute walk, with its Abbey, shop, pub and award-winning tea room. A lovely circular walk to Aird's Point (where the River Nith meets the Solway Firth) takes approximately two hours. Criffelview is also just a 15 minutes drive from Mabie Forest, part of the 7Stanes mountain biking network, with some lovely walking routes! The site also has an award-winning, adjoining certificated location (CL) caravan site at Landis Farm. Affiliated with the Caravan and Motorhome Club, this is available to members only.
