A note from the site themselves...

One thing we are extremely passionate about is making sure to enhance the woodlands and secure their future. We work closely alongside The Woodland Trust to make sure we are taking care of our environment.

The trust owns and cares for well over 1,250 sites covering almost 30,000 hectares across the UK. Ancient semi-natural woods only cover 2.5% of UK grounds and this includes the three woods that make up Bewl Water.

Combewell, Pig and Frogwell are irreplaceable habitats and are therefore recognised as a natural asset, important for the rare and threatened species of wildlife that live here. We look forward to welcoming you to explore our site soon, Kevin

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Zone A)Sep 2022

I planned to stay for two nights but had to abandon the 2nd night due to road noise in the early morning. I was really lucky to get a space on the same day booking and when I turned up, the whole site is empty. So I was having the whole site for myself! However, things started when I've was given Pitch 1, which is next to the road where all the cars were passing by. In my booking request, I specifically asked for a quiet pitch so that I can enjoy my camping and the peacefulness. I've travelled a long way to the site from Central London and reached the site feeling pretty exhausted. After pitching the tent and sun went down, I fell asleep quickly. But from around 10pm, there were cars passing by my pitch and motor bikes too. I got up several times to check and my dog was really nervous. The vehicle noise carried on for about 1 hour and then everything went quiet. In the early morning, around 6am, the vehicle noise rose and I couldn't sleep anymore. The vehicles just kept on coming, one after another. The noise drove me mad and I was exhausted both mentally and physically. If I've been given a pitch away from the road, I think I'll be staying for another night but I was given the option. This is a really bad experience for me!

Great place to stay

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Zone B)Aug 2022

I was there over a very busy bank holiday weekend. Loads of activities, was pitched close to the toilets and wash facilities, and the campsite is very close to the lake. Only 2 problems and not their fault. The geese in the lake are very noisy at night and there is a booming sound every 45 mins from a nearby farmer keeping the birds off his land. Starts at 6am. I will visit again.

Really great camping experience

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches (Zone A)Aug 2022

Buel Water is a fantastic place to visit. The staff are welcoming and attentive and facilities kept clean daily. There's plenty to do. For kids there's an inflatable Aqua Park, Lazer tag and other activities. You can go swimming and surfing and also there's a pleasant 13 mile walk around Buel Water. The site is dog friendly.
