Located at the northern tip of the North Coast 500 route, Halladale and North Coast Touring Park is the ideal stop for a relaxing break. Enjoy views of the sandy shores of Melvich Beach, grab a bite to eat at the Halladale Inn, and let the little ones burn off steam at the onsite play area. Both family and dog friendly, this spacious and scenic site offers a great combination of convenience and natural beauty for your stay.

About the site


A family run site along the scenic North Coast 500 route, with an onsite pub, shop, and playground. With Melvich Beach just a 20 minute walk away, this is a great place to relax and soak up the fresh coastal air. There is a variety of electric hardstanding pitches, suitable for motorhomes, campervans, and rooftents, each with private grass areas for side-opening units and awnings. There are also pitches available specifically for caravans and their towing vehicles, with a dedicated grass area for awnings. For tent campers, there are grass pitches with optional electric hook ups, perfect for two or more people. There are smaller grass pitches for solo campers with tents under 4m. Please note that vehicles are not allowed on the grass areas, but can be parked in the nearby car park. For those who prefer glamping, the Clansman Pods are perfect for two, or opt for the Mini Bunkhouses, which sleep seven. Please remember to bring your own bedding. From beautiful beachside walks to fishing lakes and puffin-spotting tours, this site is a great base to discover the beauty of northern Scotland. Your four legged friends are more than welcome to join your stay.

Guests have access to a spacious toilet and shower block as well as a washing up area with a microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, iron, and ironing board. There is a laundrette with coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers. Chemical waste disposal and grey waste disposal are available. Free WiFi is also available across the site.

Children can run off steam at the site's play area, including swings and a slide.

The site has a shop selling daily essentials, gifts, toys, and camping equipment. The Halladale Inn café and bistro is open from 1st April to 31st October for a bite to eat or a refreshing drink. The Strathy Inn is a ten minute drive away.

Check-in is available from 2pm until 7pm, and check out is no later than 11am. For glamping, you must check out of the pods before 10:30am.

Your dogs are more than welcome here, but please make sure to keep them on their lead. If you are staying in a pod, please also remember to select this as an extra when booking.



Things to do on site and in the Sutherland area

If the coast is what you're after, the beautiful Melvich beach is just a 20 minute walk away and a popular spot with both surfers and dog walkers alike. Or take a trip off the beaten track and walk the scenic 40 minute route to the picturesque Portskerra Harbour.

For the budding fishermen out there, why not obtain a day permit and head off for a spot of fishing at the Halladale River, just a 15 minute drive away. If fishing isn't your cup of tea, how about scouting out some of the local puffins! With Puffin Cove nearby, there is a range of guided walking and boat tours on offer.

If you're after something family friendly, Kirkton Farm is just a 30 minute walk or five minute drive away from the site. You can even explore the farm with a buggy tour- what's not to love!
