We loved staying here. There was lots to do for the kids and lots of nice walks around. The showers and toilets where always clean. The peacocks are amazing!

I think overall, except for the torrential downpour, which obviously couldn't be helped, the only downside was lack of availability of getting food. There was something for breakfast but otherwise just pizzas. If you could get one other choice, say a sandwich place or jacket potato stall, it would be perfect.

Excellent, as always. 6th visit here and will always come back. Facilities are great and the Bank Holiday weekend entertainment is great for all ages, with so much to do. Great work from the team at Barn Farm.

Fantastic Bank Holiday with a festival feel. Had some rain but campsite hosts made sure everyone was happy.

This site is great, facilities are plentiful and very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Walks from the site take you through beautiful countryside. So bet you're wondering about the review title? We had a great family weekend here but, not the sites fault, it rained for most of the time and we ended up soaked and everything got covered in mud 🙁, we'll pick a better spot next time!

We had a great weekend, we were 2 families with young children and the Bank Holiday entertainment made it a much more exciting camping trip. We had one day of bad rain, but it didn't matter as plenty to do, we will definitely be going back.

Fantastic campsite, well run, and best site for cleanliness. Great entertainment all weekend, missed the Lancaster flying over due to bad weather, but it didn't spoil the weekend. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

A beautifully kept site. Facilities are clean, the site is peaceful and close to some lovely walks. Our stay was at a quiet time of year, I wonder how noisy it would be during busy times as the site is well set up for children and families. The shop was not open as advertised but reception staff were happy to open on request.

A nice break away. Campsite is nice and two lovely little pubs very close. Nice walks near by and thankfully the weather was great. Toilets and showers clean although shower did not really get warm and the hair dryer in the shower block did not work. Really nice to see the peacocks and alpacas. The peacocks are your alarm to waking up on the site, which I loved. Duke of Edinburgh were in the field opposite but were really no bother at all. Overall a pleasant stay.

We loved our stay here, just unfortunately busy in the loo’s with the DOE students hanging around. However, it’s great there are showers for non DOE guests. Loved the location and the lady at reception was very helpful!

This is a lovely site with excellent facilities. All kept very clean. Two friendly local pubs within a 5 minute walk, and alpacas and peacocks to look at. Would stay here again.

Nice weekend spent at Barn Farm with friends (caravan, motorhome, campervan). Touring pitches are on a slope, be prepared to chock your caravan. Good facilities, clean showers and toilets, welcoming and friendly staff. Well positioned for exploring the Peak District, Bakewell and Matlock on the doorstep: Chatworth House and Ladybower Dam further afield. They take a lot or DofE students camping out, so something to be aware of. A lot of teenage kids, they were fine, no issues with late night noise, but something to be aware of if booking.

Barn Farm Campsite is an excellent site in a beautiful location with gorgeous views across the Derwent Valley. On arrival, the staff were friendly and informative. During our stay, all the staff were busy keeping the site looking great, but were always pleasant and friendly. Adult showers were a bonus and kept very clean in fact the whole site was kept in great order without feeling restricted. We had our Cocker Spaniel with us and he was also made very welcome, the only place dogs aren't allowed is the toilets and shop, which is understandable. I'd recommend local walks and both pubs, I'd also recommend booking ahead as they're very popular. The campsite staff offer information on all sorts of things in the local area from maps to menus for the pubs. I can't speak highly enough of this wonderful campsite, we'll definitely be returning.

We have been coming here for the last 3 years as the "Sumer Hillside Meet" in our camper vans. 21 vans this year. The staff are welcoming and the facilities are always clean and well provisioned at all times. There is a small shop onsite that is very well stocked with everything you may need (or forgotten to pack) The staff are very informative and helpful. Two pubs a short walk away with the Druids being our choice for food except on a Sunday when the Red Lion does an amazing lunch. The Duke of Edinburgh use the big fields but you wont notice them, early to bed - early to rise and they clean up after themselves. Paying guests have their own facilities so no waiting for the students to leave. Plenty of easy walking in the area, the circular walk to the Nine Ladies is our favourite, passing two pubs on the return.

Beautiful site. Lovely facilities. Hard standing pitches could be made more level. Considering the number of DofE people on site they do a fantastic job of keeping it clean.

Was recommended this site as a great family option. Took my daughter camping for the first time here and she absolutely loved it! The family field has a play area, which makes it ideal for kids to run around whilst parents can relax but still watch them. There's also loads of wildlife and my daughter enjoyed spotting the peacocks the most! There were plenty of facilities and generally they were clean, unless you happen to go in after the Duke of Edinburgh groups. They weren't awful but hence why I have a 4 star for cleanliness. There are adult only facilities however, which I didn't use which I presume may've been better. The bigger sized shower rooms certainly were. There's also plenty of dog hooks if you need to tie up your dogs. Reception were really welcoming and helpful and went above and beyond to help me. There was a small shop, which had the basics and some spare camping items if you need anything. There was an ice cream van that came round on the late afternoons and they provide details of takeaways that deliver if you don't fancy cooking. There's two local pubs, we visited the Druids Inn that did great food. It does get busy though so if you can book beforehand, try to.

Booked a grass pitch by mistake but it was graciously swapped for hardstanding. Stayed at Barn Farm a few times now and will definitely be back, lovely site and staff.
