A note from the site themselves...

Moss Rose Campsite is run by 3 generations of our family, on our small working farm. Joe & Kel, together with their 6 year old son Stan, and dad John make up the Moss Rose Team.

Joe is the 8th generation direct descendant of Owd Jemmy Jenkinson, who founded the hamlet of Eagland Hill 200 years ago, and the families have farmed the surrounding land ever since.

Here at Black Hill Farm, we have planted around 10,000 trees, and half a mile of hedge rows, since it came into our care. We are passionate about ecological conservation, encouraging the local wild life to flourish by adopting an organic form of stewardship, by not using chemical pesticides or fertilisers.

Our camping pitches are mown into the wild flower meadow, offering not only a more natural experience for our guests, but also keeping the environmental balance for our local wildlife. We ask that you keep dogs on a lead, and refrain from walking in the long grass, as this is home to 100s of 1000s of wild flowers, hares, ground nesting birds and other wild life.

Hares, unlike rabbits, give birth to their young in above ground nests, leaving them alone during the daytime. If you are lucky, you may see Hares, Rabbits, Voles, Deer, Buzzards, various different Hawks, and the Barn Owls during your stay with us. We also have an impressive different array of Butterflies, Moths and of course the Bats that can be seen at dusk.
