About the site
Whether you're after a relaxing family holiday, attending a celebration, participating in a course or volunteering on one of the site's environmental projects, camping and glamping here offer a memorable place to stay.
Expect breathtaking views down to the beach at Porthtowan and over the Atlantic, as well as to St Agnes Beacon and the historic mining valley of Tywarnhayle. Plus, a cleared mule track leads down the valley towards the beach below (a 20 minute walk).
Spacious grass and hardstanding pitches are available on a huge field with optional electric, ideal for campers and tourers. Even in summer at maximum capacity, there is plenty of space to get away from it all.
The simplistic, handcrafted eco pods sleep up to two guests and include a double bed, bedding, towels, solar lights and USB charging ports.
A selection of shepherd huts also offers a cosy glamping choice for your Cornish adventure. Small Woods and Ty View sleep up to two, Allotment 2 sleeps up to three, while Beacon and Allotment 1 sleep up to four.
All are beautifully furnished with beds and cooking facilities, and three shepherd's huts even have the luxury of an ensuite (Tywarnhayle, Allotment 1 and Allotment 2).
Well behaved dogs are very welcome on the park, and pets are welcome across the grounds.
Campfires are encouraged in the cob courtyard (communal area), and fire pits and barbecues are welcome as long as they are kept off the grass.

Camping is available from March to October, with hardstanding pitches and glamping available from end of January to December.
Site facilities include toilet and shower blocks with mains water toilets, compost toilets, and gas and solar-powered showers. A washroom provides plug sockets, a mirror and a kettle. There is also a freezer for ice blocks. The social space (Cob Courtyard) has a communal fire and cob pizza oven. Firepits can be hired onsite (subject to availability), and firewood is for sale.
Porthtowan nearby has a small local shop, a health food shop and a few pubs, including The Unicorn on the Beach. The nearest supermarkets are Aldi and Tesco in Redruth.
A note from the site themselves...
There's always something exciting happening at our eco park, from campouts and singing sessions to tree planting events and markets. The energy here is contagious!
We're passionate about our community and the environment, which is why we also run the Down to Earth Foundation. We work hand in hand with the community to increase biodiversity and create corridors for wildlife to move around the park.
Since 2017, we've planted thousands of trees, carefully choosing species that thrive in our soil and can withstand the powerful winds that drive our on site wind turbine. We also have our Community Garden for us and locals to grow plenty of fruit and vegetables. The produce is also used in our canteen so that you can enjoy the taste of local, homegrown goodness too.
We love having an eclectic mix of people visiting our site, from campers, band members, wedding guests to cafe goers. There's something for everyone here. So, come and visit us, stroll on the beach, breathe in the fresh air and connect with nature in the heart of Cornwall. Jess and the Mount Pleasant Eco Park team

Medium Tent - Wild Grass Camping PitchesApr 2025
Lovely campsite within easy reach of the A30.
I think we were the first wild campers to book this season but as it happened, the wind was so fierce, we requested to be relocated to the assigned pitch camping field so we could be more sheltered, which they very kindly allowed us to do.
Great to be able to walk down to the beach in Porth Towan. Super views from the campsite and the facilities were clean. Nice hot showers.
Great place to stay
