About the site

This quiet, back to basics campsite is set in a rural location just outside of Llangefni on the island of Anglesey. The site offers grass pitches set in front of a wilding area. Pitches are non electric and each is dog friendly and has plenty of space for an awning, gazebo or pup tent. There are also five electric hardstanding and grass pitches. For nature lovers, there is a wilding area onsite where you can spot squirrels or pheasants from your pitch. The campsite is also close to some of Anglesey's beaches such as Traeth Lligwy and Traeth Benllech. You're also just ten minutes from Moelfre, a seaside town that connects up to the Anglesey Coast Path, leading all the way around the island. Or Holyhead is just 25 minutes by car if you want to get the ferry to Dublin. Please note that this site has no toilet or shower facilities. Campfires and BBQs are only permitted in raised fire pits. Four-legged friends are welcome.

We had a very nice stay. Very quiet place. Facilities were basic as described but clean and adequate. The only issue was finding the place in the first place. If using this place, definitely use the what3words location.

First time at this site. We would have preferred electric hook up but they just advertised non electric grass pitch. Had to see ourselves to the pitch, no service or greeting . Was near a tent where the people who had the tent were playing football everywhere on the site and was noisy most of night. Not somewhere we would go again.

Hi - the whole point is peace and tranquillity. I'm sorry about the footballing tent, if you told me I would have addressed it. Sorry I couldn't meet and greet, I try most times.

What time is check-in and check out at Swallow Bach?

You can check-in from noon until 8pm on your day of arrival at Swallow Bach, but please let the site know if you're delayed. Check out is before 10am on your final day.

Is Swallow Bach dog-friendly?

Yes, your dogs are welcome at Swallow Bach and are allowed to be off their lead on site. The site does ask that your dogs are not left unattended and that when leaving the site to explore the conservation area behind, your dog remains on their lead.

Does Swallow Bach allow BBQs and campfires?

Yes, BBQs are allowed at Swallow Bach as long as they are raised off the ground. Open fires are also allowed but only in raised fire pits. The site kindly asks that you do not take wood from the surrounding trees.

Does Swallow Bach allow awnings, gazebos or pup tents?

Yes, there is plenty of space for awnings, gazebos and pup tents at Swallow Bach.

Can I park near my pitch at Swallow Bach?

Yes, you're able to park at your pitch at Swallow Bach.

What is access like for touring at Swallow Bach?

Access to Swallow Bach can be a little tricky, especially in wet weather. Be sure to follow the instructions sent by the site beforehand to help you find the site entrance.

Things to do on site and in the Llangefni area

Traeth Lligwy and Traeth Benllech beaches are within a 15 minute drive.

Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) is only half an hour's drive away. Attempt the hike up Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon), try a more leisurely walk around some of the landscapes, or head to one of the lakes for a spot of wild swimming.

Or why not catch the ferry from Holyhead (25 minutes) and head to Dublin for the weekend. The village of Niwbwrch is only 20 minutes away, with a village pub and chippy, also offering some local walks.
