Nestled in the Dorset countryside, just a 15 minute drive from Weymouth and the Jurassic Coast, Portesham Dairy Farm is a family run site surrounded by patchwork fields. The site caters to caravans, motorhomes and tents with level, sheltered and fully serviced pitches. Furry friends will love their visit too, with dog groomer and dog pampering facilities available on site.

We were allocated pitch 61 and on arrival, the site was quiet. Once we set up, we then realised we were next to a play area for children, which we found noisy. Being next to the toilets, the area was too busy for us. We would certainly come back if we had the choice to select a pitch away from the children's play area. We found the pitch we were allocated was very good, however, my preference would be to be along the tree line or pitch 60.

Next time you book you can leave a special request saying whereabouts you would prefer on the site, and we will always do what we can to accommodate this request. We hope to see you again soon.

We really liked the site - very quiet considering the size. We just found that there were not enough nearby walks for the dogs as the road to Abbotsbury is quite dangerous (no footpaths) and the other option - through the campsite. This started well, but was then so overgrown that we couldn't continue. Lovely farm shop nearby and good pub.

There are many walks from the village Portesham, and an alternative walk along the old railway track to Abbotsbury. Reception would have been able to give you any more information you need. The facilities at this site were exceptional! Really well maintained and a well thought out way of offering items to buy without having a shop. This is why I only scored 3 for service as there were no staff manning the vending service. My only criticism of the site was the occupants. My family and I only stayed 1 night but not one of us got a "good morning/evening" or even much of a smile.

Thank you for the review. The staff at reception monitor the vending machines and are on hand if there are any issues. If after reception hours, there is a number on the reception window to call if required. Staff will always give you a greeting, but we do not have any control over the site occupants. We hope that you will visit us again.

Brilliant campsite in a great location to travel to Weymouth beach and local attractions, with lovely views and well looked after pitches and facilities! Nicest facilities I've seen at a campsite, cleaned regularly and such a peaceful site.

An immaculately clean site with lovely big pitches set far apart. Quiet & peaceful, but still good for children. Lovely location close to the beach & rural Dorset.

Great campsite, with very clean toilet and shower facilities. Brilliant campsite and area guide given at arrival. All staff were very friendly and helpful. My only slight criticism is unless you bring your own windbreaks, you have hardly any privacy. We found other campers just walking across our pitch, even though the guides ask you not to. Other sites we've stayed at have a hedge to stop this.

What a little gem! Lovely located site with small milk/coffee/ice-cream stations. Local shop 2 minutes walk away. The pub is an extra minute away! Fantastically clean facilities. And the sun shone. Perfectly located for the Jurassic coast, although we left the van parked up and walked into Abbotsbury (30 minute flat walk).

The site is perfectly placed for access to the Jurassic Coast a short drive away. There is a pub and shop within walking distance and some produce on site. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The facilities were in tip top order and always clean. My only criticism would be they look a bit industrial/temporary. Personally I would clad them with wood or stone to make them look a bit more rustic. We have every intention of booking again for next year and staying for longer.

One of the best facilities we have come across. Good cafe and pub within walking distance and even has a fresh milk vending machine. Will return.

Sue at reception was very friendly and helpful, which was much needed as it was only our second time! The facilities and location were excellent, and very clean. Will definitely be returning!

Pitches are well set out and maintained. Shower block clean tidy and also well maintained. Reception was always staffed and a friendly hello and wave were given as you walk or drive past. The fresh milk/milkshake machine was a tasty addition. We visited the farm shop and pub just down the road (2 min walk) several times during week.

This was a very clean and organised park. We totally enjoyed our stay. The park was easy to access and was very secure. The milk machine was a nice touch as well. Totally recommend!

Outstanding level of cleanliness throughout the site. Beautiful views, great area for dog walking and kids playground. Night time was quiet, so we got a great sleep. The automated entrance recognises your licence plate so no waiting for staff if you have pre-booked. There are vending machines for basics such as milk, coffee, even bacon, and a farm shop just 2 mins walk up the road. The site must be doing something right as it was virtually full in January! We would definitely return when in the area.

Portesham Farm is one of the best sites we have stayed on. Hot showers any time of the day at the push of a button, great washing, drying facilities and the vending machine for eggs and bacon was fab!

This site is so peaceful and quiet. The facilities are immaculate, it would put a lot of hotels to shame. The wardens are friendly and helpful and polite. We asked if we could stay another night and it was sorted for us. We will definitely be back.

Great system of ID for number plates. We really appreciated this when we were late arriving after a 3 hour drive from home turned into a 4 and a half drive which meant we turned up at 9.30pm! In the dark it was difficult to find our pitch. Maybe a lit-up map or the odd signage for groups of numbers eg 100 - 150 this way etc. Very friendly staff. Great farm shop opposite - for breakfasts, lunches and of course local food. Lovely looking pub set in pretty peaceful village. We will be back!

Okay site, smallish pitches, absolutely no privacy or division between pitches. Just rows and rows of caravans. The kids play park had minimal activities and was really just a meeting place. We could find no division between the kids playing field and the dogs one.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry that you thought it was just an ok campsite. The kids play park does contain swings and slide and is mostly for the younger kids. Currently, the playing field/dog field has not been divided but is checked often for any litter and dog mess. This may change if we feel is needed.
