About the site

Set in a peaceful, sheltered spot on the banks of the River Spean, this family friendly campsite offers stunning views towards the Nevis Range. Although wonderfully secluded, you're still surrounded by the attractions and amenities of the UK's Outdoor Capital, making it an ideal base for exploring the Highlands. There are 25 non electric grass pitches for tents, each accommodating up to eight guests. Two additional grass pitches come with a 10 amp electric hook up and are suitable for tents, roof tents and campervans. Tourers can choose from 20 hardstanding pitches, each measuring 9m x 9m and accommodating up to eight guests. These are spread across the site, with some located beside the toilet block and others in a quieter, more open area. If you'd rather leave the tent at home, there are four cosy furnished log pods, each sleeping up to three people. Inside, you'll find canvas bunks, hammocks, chair beds, a microwave, kettle and table and chairs. Spend your days relaxing while taking in the mountain views, strolling along the River Spean or heading out to explore the surrounding Highlands. The Cairngorms National Park is also a 25 minute drive away. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, with scenic paths and woodland walks for them to explore. Please note that access is via a 500 metre single-track lane, which is narrow in places. Campfires are not permitted onsite.

Guests have access to two heated facility blocks with toilets, hot showers, wash basins, razor points, and hand and hair dryers. The women's block includes four toilets and two showers, while the male block has three toilets, two urinals and two showers.

There's a well-equipped laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and a large washing line. There is also a fridge, freezer and a covered washing up area. WiFi is included during your stay.

Free fishing is available on the River Spean, while books, games and DVDs are available to borrow if you're looking to unwind instead. You'll also find plenty of local information to help plan scenic walks and days out as well as free phone charging points in reception.

The village of Roy Bridge is a ten minute walk away, home to a railway station on the famous West Highland Line, a regular bus service to Fort William, a coffee shop and two welcoming pubs serving food. For essentials, there's a Spar just a five minute drive away, while larger supermarkets including Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons can all be reached within 20 minutes by car.

Things to do on site and in the Fort William area

From this fantastic base, you can explore the Highlands on foot, by bike or by car. It's ideal for an active holiday, with excellent fishing nearby! You can even cast a line from the banks of the River Spean, which runs alongside the park.

Abseiling, kayaking and a range of other outdoor activities are all available nearby.

Take a boat trip on Loch Linnhe, catch a ferry to the islands, cross the bridge to Skye or hire a bike to explore the area's many scenic trails. You can also visit a distillery, spot local wildlife, try watersports or ice climbing, or challenge yourself to reach the summit of Ben Nevis, the highest point in the UK.
