About the site

Moorview Touring Park is a peaceful, adults-only, dog-friendly touring and camping park set in the South Devon countryside, with far-reaching views towards Dartmoor. It's an ideal place to relax, unwind and enjoy the best of the South Hams, with beautiful beaches, charming villages and walking routes all within easy reach. During the spring and summer, the grass camping field opens, offering nine spacious pitches, each approximately 15m x 15m. These are suitable for tents and tourers, with a choice of non-electric or fully serviced pitches. The remaining pitches are hardstanding with 16-amp electric hook-up, fresh water supply and grey waste drainage. The compact pitches are around 9m x 5.5m, ideal for smaller caravans and motorhomes. The intermediate pitches are around 11m x 6m, providing extra space for larger tourers, an awning and parking, while the super pitches are 9m x 10m, alongside a 9m x 5m grassed area and private picnic table. Guests can enjoy an onsite games room, TV lounge, complimentary WiFi, shower facilities and laundry. There's also a dedicated dog-walking field where four-legged companions can enjoy a good run while you take in the countryside views. Up to two dogs are allowed per pitch. You can also make the most of those long summer evenings with a BBQ or fire pit at your pitch, just please ensure they are raised from the ground. Explore South Devon The park is ideally situated for exploring the South Hams. Discover the charming harbour towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth, explore Totnes' independent shops and cafés, or spend the day enjoying beautiful beaches and coastal walks of the area. Bigbury Beach and Bantham Beach are around 20 minutes away, while Blackpool Sands and Plymouth can be reached in approximately 30 minutes.

Onsite facilities include a modern shower and toilet block and free WiFi. There is also a laundry room with washing machines and dryers, plus an outdoor washing up area.

There is a games room with table tennis, a pool table, board games and a TV, along with another separate TV room for relaxing. The site is dog friendly with a five acre dog walking field that offers plenty of space for exercise. Seating areas are also dotted throughout the park.

California Cross is a ten minute walk away. Here, you will find a fully stocked Co-op for essentials, a petrol station and the California Inn, a cosy country pub.

Site rules and policies

*Check-in is from 12pm-6pm. Please check out by 11am.

*Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

*Quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am.

*Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.

*The site only allows raised fire pits and BBQs.

Things to do on site and in the Modbury area

Bigbury Beach (20 minutes) is a beautiful, wide sandy beach offering views across to the iconic Burgh Island. At low tide, you can walk across the causeway to explore the island, while at other times the famous sea tractor provides a memorable way to reach it.

The pretty coastal town of Salcombe is 25 minutes away, a wonderful place to spend the day. Famous for its colourful boats, waterfront cafés and independent shops, you can stroll around the harbour, enjoy a boat trip or simply relax with a drink overlooking the beautiful estuary.

Plymouth (30 minutes) is a historic waterfront city that offers something for everyone. Explore the famous Plymouth Hoe and historic Barbican, visit museums, enjoy the shops and restaurants or take in the spectacular waterfront views.

For something a little different, discover Kents Cavern (50 minutes) and journey underground through fascinating prehistoric caves. Explore ancient rock formations and learn about the people and animals that inhabited the area thousands of years ago.
