Situated between Hastings and Battle, this small, independent camping and glamping site is an ideal, adult only getaway. The small site offers just five grass tent pitches spread out over two acres. Nestled on a working smallholding, the site is home to chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, beehives, pet horses, with eggs and honey typically available to be purchased from the onsite honest box!

About the site
Situated on the A2100 in the small Hamlet of Telham between Hastings and Battle, the site is ideally located for exploring East Sussex. Nestled just a 15 minute drive from glorious beaches like St. Leonards On Sea, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to days out! The site offers just five 10m x 10m non electric grass pitches across its expansive two acres. Each pitch welcomes up to six guests, allowing tents only. Please note, as the pitches are large, if you're camping as a group of three or four small tents, you only need to book one pitch. The adult-only site welcomes guests only over the age of 16. Being on a working smallholding means you can meet the site's many animals including horses and chickens, but this does therefore mean dogs are not allowed in the camping area at all. Just over the road from the site is a wonderful pub called The Black Horse, perfect for evenings out enjoying a big meal and a couple of glasses of wine with just a short walk back to your pitch. If you are looking for that traditional camping experience, the site has a range of fire pits to hire, great for toasting marshmallows. BBQs are also welcome, as long as they are raised from the ground.

Superb setting, good facilities and Black Horse pub only 100 yards down the road that serves great food. A black horse too in field next to tent pitch with a Saturday Cricket match in the distance, such a peaceful tranquil setting. Good bus 1066 route into Hastings and Battle and walks.

I arrived in the afternoon after a long cycle from London, and met Drew who gave me the lowdown on the site. It was a really nice spot, had a large pylon in the small field and horses in the fenced off field behind. It was perfect for pitching my one man tent, near the main road but not too noisy. There was a compost toilet in a small hut, which was fine, and a large sink and water tap behind. All pretty basic stuff, but fine. The pub just down the road opposite looked a good choice although I didn't use it, maybe next time! It was an easy enough ride to Hastings and the price was pretty cheap for a few nights, so will be a good choice for future stays. Would fully recommend to others!

We camped with a group of 4, the campsite was simple but just what we needed, very close to Battle. The friendly horses came to greet us by the fence when we arrived and Drew, the owner, popped by to welcome us. The composting toilets were clean and didn't smell, and there was plenty of toilet paper. We rented a fire pit which was ready for us with a pile of firewood. Would stay again.
