Stayed for 1 night. A pleasant, quiet site. Didn't actually manage to meet anybody that ran it. Felt the site was a little basic but served it's purpose. Just parked up! Caught the bus into Cardiff, which was a bonus. Slightly disappointed that I didn't have any hot water to wash my hands/face with before bed and the door on one of the cubicles didn't lock or stay closed. Would recommend as a pit stop and convenient to visit nearby towns.

Having just bought a camper van and wild camping for a couple of nights I booked into Vishwell Farm to settle for a few days. It had hook up, a toilet/shower and even Wi-Fi. It's a quiet, very laid back retreat, 3 miles from Barry so it was easy to hop on the bus for a visit which run every half an hour. The best bit was the adjacent field where my dog loved exploring. David, the host, was a delight and very helpful.

We have just bought our first caravan and were staying for the weekend just to get to grips with the caravan and what to do. This site was perfect for just that. But as far as the children are concerned, there was nothing for them. So it's a site to park and set up and that's it.

Absolutely loved our stay in our motorhome on site, based on a working farm. I had read previous reviews that stated shower/ toilet block were not great. This is a working farm, not a commercial large company site. What is offered at Vishwell Farm is clean and in full working order. They offer an area for motorhomes/caravans to maintain their own tanks, etc. We were greeted by the owner, who was amazing, offering the use of his spare fields as our dog is reactive. Any issues and they are available on-site. Lovely peaceful environment due to the size of the site and the countryside.

Lovely peaceful site with small number of pitches, good views and relaxed atmosphere. Facilities functional if basic but reflected in the low price. Could have done with hot water for washing up and a warning when your 50p for the shower is about to run out!

Excellent service- really friendly and helpful man. Excellent site, nice and quiet and we enjoyed our stay there. Will be staying again. Great location for traveling about in that area, with lots to do and places to visit. Thank you.

Easy to find. Clean site, clean facilities. We found a pitch down a slope by its self. Quiet. Our first night up from Cornwall. First night in a campervan. We've booked ahead all week. By far the cheapest, I bet it won't be the quietest!!

Lovely tidy site with incredible views. Easy location to find. Facilities were good, toilets and showers were clean, but would benefit from an upgrade which I understand from other reviews will be soon. Easy access to Cardiff via bus. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Very good location for Barry Island. Beautiful views. You are on a working farm, so you do hear the cows, but they don't make noise at night so not a problem. The toilet facilities need a bit of a lick of paint and a clean through. The only problem for us was the washing up facilities. There was only cold water, which is fine if you are self contained but not if, like us, you have a day van and therefore need the hot water to wash up. Showers are available at a cost of 50p, they are clear about this when booking so no surprise.

The location is perfect with easy access to the coast, countryside and city. The site is lovingly cared for, neat, clean, and with spacious plots. The facilities are extremely basic, cold water wash up for dishes and pay-as you-go showers. These, however, are very clean and there is a well laid out area for rubbish and recycling. Very peaceful and pleasant but be aware of the basic, rural nature of the site.
