About the site

This is a spacious riverside campsite set within the grounds of a historic property in a small village just off the A1, around 15 minutes from Worksop and under an hour from Nottingham. Pitches are spread throughout the grounds, which lead down to the banks of the River Poulter, surrounded by mature trees, open green spaces, and an ornamental bridge often used for weddings and events. Families can enjoy plenty of outdoor activities onsite, including stepping stones across the river, paddling in the shallow water during summer months, a rope swing, zip wire and outdoor play areas with climbing equipment and games. The relaxed setting makes it ideal for traditional camping, group stays and countryside getaways. All pitches are grass, with electric and non-electric options available in a range of sizes. For guests seeking extra comfort, a furnished log cabin sleeping six with its own ensuite facilities is also available onsite. The unique Cave Bar opens during the May and August Bank Holiday weekends, adding something special to peak-season stays.

Guests have access to a cave bar (open only during May and August bank holidays) that includes an area selling snacks and junior fishing rods and nets for the river, a bar with a relaxing chill-out room and a TV in reception, available on request, plus rustic outdoor seating.

Absolutely fantastic place and staff. The best camping experience we've had. Such a friendly relaxed place with everything you need for a perfect stay. Has a little shop two toilets and showers per male female block. Disabled toilet by the cave bar Washing up station. Staff go above and beyond and are just the most lovely people. They organised a duck race and ice-cream van visits in the afternoon and the cave bar and music playing in the evening. No place like it! The kids absolutely loved playing in the stream catching minnows and splashing around on the streams zip line and swing. There's a play area with trampoline, climbing frame and another zip line and swings . There's some more toys around the cave bar. A perfect mix to enjoy a drink while the kids played. Usually camping feels like we need another break to get over it but this honestly felt like a holiday. Thankyou guys for everything and we look forward to coming back again ❤️

We absolutely loved camping here over the weekend, we’ve already said we intend to come again next year, the site was lovely and well set out,the little kitchen with a fridge and freezer was brilliant,plenty of space to wash up,the little river running through was our boys favourite bit,I don’t think they spend more than 10 minutes out of the water, come rain or shine, the little bar had a talent show on which was fantastic and everyone was joining in and dancing, the ladies came over and checked everything was okay with the site and if we’d settled, they were extremely friendly and welcoming, it was such a fantastic weekend x

The Old Vicarage is set in former monastic land, most of which belonged to Welbeck Abbey. To this day, the Abbey's secrets are still being revealed, its subterranean passages having even been used to store the nation's art treasures during the Second World War.
