About the site
Spread out in a gorgeous Somerset countryside setting. This peaceful and beautiful location is ideal for city dwellers looking for a rural experience.
There are 70+ pitches, including limited electric, for campers, tourers and motorhomes across four fields, Oakfield, Wellow and Lower Brook, Upper Brook and Sleepy Hollow. Set alongside is a lovely pub which is a 200 year old cider house, one of only six left in the country. It's on the national inventory of historic interiors and has hardly changed since WW1.
Offering a variety of real ale and cider, from Butcombe original to Thatcher Cheddar Valley, this is a great place to relax and get cosy. The interior is rustic with some original Georgian wood panelling, stripped back wooden floors, a working Victorian fireplace, settles, pews and large wooden tables.
It's a great place to socialise over a pint or two. There is even regular events and live music to enjoy.

A note from the site themselves...
The doors of this traditional cider house first opened back in 1827, is Grade I listed and is steeped in local history. The inn still has the original Georgian features including the earliest pub lettering in the country!
A clean and well maintained campsite. We stayed on the bank Holiday Monday night, so it was a bit quiet . Shower and toilet facilities were clean , modern and functional. . The pitches were split up into , families, groups, no children etc and well spread out . The Barn wasn't open when we stayed however it looked like it would be a great weekend campsite. The pub was very cozy , friendly with loads of local Ciders.. A highly recommended campsite with the basics to enjoy camping .

Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass PitchesApr 2025
This was our first visit with a caravan and two dogs. It was a very busy weekend with live music and vintage car rally. Great atmosphere.
Exceeded my expectations.
We sampled the pizzas very tasty and wasn't a cider drinker before, but I am now.
Great walks from the site and the site was very clean.
Looking forward to a return visit.
