late April.one night stay

Friendly staff , clean modern facilities with large serviced pitches. Metered hook up which was easy to top up when low. will use again on future trips due to its location.

Perfect caravan site

It was our first time at Hill Cottage Farm, and what a lovely surprise we had. The site itself was kept to a very high standard. Our pitch was kept so well eg grass cut and bushes trimmed. The toilets were very clean. We used the fishing lakes which were looked after, very well. Everyone who worked there were very friendly. Had a Thai takeaway from the restaurant on our last night...delicious! Will definitely go back again

One night stay

Would be improved with better lighting around site at night, ability to change shower temp as it was scolding, timers for lights in wash area, washing machine room too short which is irritating- washing machine room goes off after 10 or so seconds, i understand timers for saving electricity but a bit longer would be good.

Lovely site, good price and easy access

Lovely clean site, easy to reach with no horrible surprises en route. Having pre registered our vehicle index number, the ANPR system reads your plate as you turn in and the barrier is raised by the time you get there and is the correct entrance for your colour pitch. Hardstanding (18 blue) was a good size and some of the grass pitches opposite were absolutely huge. The metered e-electric worked well as we put £10 on our account before we arrived. The power was used for running the fridge, battery charger and cooking and to be more power conscious, instead of using the water heater, we used a kettle for washing up, thus saving quite a bit on electricity prices. If you wanted to save even more, you could use the site washing up facilities. The e-electric is a really good idea as I think it makes you much more aware of what you may be using. It saddens me to see empty caravans with air con units chugging away all day when there is nobody home. This system works really well and makes you think about your use. The only thing I would suggest is that the system sends you a text message when you are getting low on credit as we ran out of power at 03:05 and were woken up with the control panel bleeping. If you were out all day, you could lose a fridge full of food. Other than that, it is a good system and works well. Toilet and shower block are basic but functional. Overall, I liked the site and will be returning. The owners obviously spend a lot of effort keeping the place clean, tidy and welcoming. Beware of the prickly trimmings around the base of the hedges, I think they are hawthorn bushes. After they have been trimmed, some of the trimmings are on the grass where you sit, so footwear is a must. Definitely a site to recommend.

Highly recommend

We highly recommend Hill Cottage Farm. From start to finish our stay was the best. The site is so well kept, the staff are friendly and welcoming. The facilities are excellent! It's so good that we have already booked again for Bank Holiday weekend. A special mention to Sheena who was so lovely with my children and who saved me when I had a flat battery. Shout out to the amazing Thai restaurant 🙌

Short walk (less than a mile) to a nice pub. Nice dog walking path round a field and by 3 ponds.

Relaxing & peaceful

A lovely site with easy access to the New Forest & Dorset. Lovely clean shower blocks. A lovely walk through the woods to Alderholt village & pub. Large pitches. We had a hard standing grass pitch which was plenty big for our caravan & awning. Will definitely return again.

Outstanding campsite

I cannot fault this great campsite, all of the facilities are clean and tidy. The onsite Thai restaurant is open from 4pm - 8pm where you can dine in or take away, very friendly staff and excellent food. I will definitely be booking again and highly recommend this place to stay.

First break in new van

Nice site, staff very friendly and helpful. Site was very clean. Would have been better with a pitch with a view, not just a static home opposite and very noisy campers behind, but that's not site's fault.

Lovely quiet campsite and helpful staff

The site is in a good location (we were able to travel on wide roads to get the caravan through). It is small and quiet. The facilities are lovely and clean, with regular cleaning. The staff are very helpful too. We had a problem with our caravan which was spotted while we were off site and they phoned us immediately. This helped to prevent a major disaster and meant we could continue our holiday. The electric is easy enough to do, you just have to keep checking it. We would definitely book again.

Great site

We had a massive pitch, which had privacy hedging either side. We loved the metered electric, we spent £5 for 4 nights stay. Most sites charge up to £10/night for electric, so I was pleased that this is a much fairer system. The shower and toilet block were heated, they had good showers with push buttons. We had plenty of pre-stay info' e-mailed to us, so check in was easy. The location was a bit out of the New Forest Park. We walked from the site to Fordingbridge but at this time of year the footpaths were waterlogged in many places. We cycled to Moors Valley Country park, which had great forest cycle trails, 7.5miles each way to get there. All in all, a great stay.

Restful break

A very good site, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The showers and toilets were very clean and there was a Thai restaurant /takeaway which was tasty.

Great stay

Location, facilities and instructions great. We were first timers trialling a campervan and sadly got stuck on the grass pitch due to ridiculous rain! The owners came to our rescue and pulled us out! We were very grateful and they were smiley and jovial. Site was immaculate with clean, impressive facilities. Highly recommend! Thank you.

Absolute gem

What an absolute gem of a site. The ease of booking in prior, to buying our electric was an absolute breeze. We stayed on a fully serviced hardstanding and I can honestly say we have never stayed on such a large pitch, with lovely hedges all around, which gave you privacy. The shower and toilet blocks were spotless and always had plenty of toilet roll! The site itself is so well kept, nice short grass and no rubbish laying around. So much easier having the ANPR barrier, no fiddly codes to input or cards to zap. There is free Wi-Fi on site, it was sometimes a bit hit and miss, but hey, you're not having to pay extra for it, so all good in my book. There is a small play area for children. We were out of term time, so can't say how noisy it may be during school holidays. The site is very well laid out and you can interact with fellow campers or not, whichever takes your fancy. There is also a Thai restaurant on site and although we didn't eat there this time, it looked lovely and very reasonable and we will certainly partake next year. We arrived on the Saturday and that evening the site had made such an impression on us, that we have booked for 2025 already. if you're thinking about this site, I would highly recommend.

Had a beautiful stay

A clean site and the staff were very helpful. Only thing, we didn't get Wi-Fi for our stay, but other than that, we couldn't fault it. Would 100% return.
