Bwlchgwyn Farm and Pony Trekking is an unspoiled campsite on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, overlooking the Mawddach Estuary and Welsh coastline,. This peaceful farm and equestrian centre offers a range of pitches for campers and tourers and also includes a pair of cosy glamping pods too! With easy reach to the stunning beaches and right on the Mawddach Trail, it's a great base. There's even a footpath leading to the stunning Blue Lake.

Best place to stay if you want to detach yourself from the busy world. The best camping site with the best view with all the facilities you want. Lovely welcome from the reception. Thank you, will definitely go back again.

Loved it! As soon as we arrived we were greeted and shown to our pitch, shown facilities and told the route to the village. Immediately we were in awe at the view from our pitch, as well as the short distance to the facilities which were very clean! There definitely is a steep walk up to the pitches but it's so worth it for the views and peace and quiet in the area. 10/10 - I recommend for anyone looking for a quality campsite to stay!

Bwlchgwyn Farm seems to cater for a wide range of holidaymakers, from family groups to socially minded people who like to gather and chat. I am a solitary sort and requested a 'tranquil' pitch. My stay was wonderful. I had a secluded grass pitch, handy for ablutions etc and had two days of complete peace and quiet. The showers were clean and well maintained, and there was a welcome rule about excessive noise after 10.30. Gemma was a wonderful host and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Outstanding panoramic views from any point, very good facilities and friendly and helpful owners - we were given the best pitch. A short drive to Fairbourne and beautiful resort of Barmouth. And we were lucky with the weather!

Beautiful location with a stunning view of the Irish Sea, Barmouth and the Welsh mountains. Was great to spot stars as it was so clear. Owner was helpful and welcoming. Fire pit and logs available, that's always a bonus. Facilities where good and clean. Can walk to Barmouth in less than an hour or catch the train over the bridge. Great for the kids.

What a really nice place with a great view. There was so much to do all around the area too. Pony trekking, Fairbourne miniature railway, Barmouth and Harlech Castle to name a few. Definitely will be going back.

We absolutely adored our stay and didn't want to come home. The pod we stayed in was tired and needs a new bed, however that didn't ruin our stay and we are already looking at when we can go again. We could have done with more communication with the owners but grabbed them when we saw them on site. Please don't book this place, it means we are more likely to get a spot again 😂😉

Enjoyed 2 night stay. Wonderful views across to Barmouth and over the Irish Sea. Sunset on Saturday was stunning. Toilets/showers might benefit from "engaged" sign but otherwise it was a very good place to stay. Didn't really engage with any member of the team but it all seemed well organised. I liked the tiered style. 25 min walk to Fairbourne and with a 30 min walk along the beach, I was at the ferry crossing which took me to Barmouth.

Very basic. No shop or playground. Shower and toilet in same cubicle/room, so toilet floor is always wet and dirty. Not particularly clean. Campsite on a hill, which has fantastic views but not much else. Nothing to speak of in the area.

Although location to town was good and the owners were lovely, (facilities were clean too) the general site wasn't what I expected. We were on a hill and our pitch was on top level and the majority pitches had go up a bank to get to your tent, which isn't good when wet and slippery. I also have problems with my knees and although I struggled, I did manage (just). So if I wanted to do the 10 minute walk into the small village, I would never been able to walk up the hills back to tent. I struggled coming back from toilets as it was a level below us and no stairs down, just part pebbly road. We were also on slate, so my partner bent many tent pegs we put in (always take spares). The only thing I can say which made the weekend were the fellow campers next to us. They said the same. The views overlooking the sea/estuary to Barmouth was out of this world, day and night, and the rain didn't spoil it. If you're fit and healthy and good at walking up and down hills, this site is definitely worth visiting. We were hoping to use the car less but unfortunately, we're not getting any younger.

We stayed in Pod 2 for two nights, the price was great and the pod was cosy and a good size. The staff were nice, polite and on hand if needed. The pod was well insulated and we could hardly hear anyone outside. The toilets were almost below us, which made it ideal for a (very) early morning loo break!! The view of Barmouth and the mountain range was breathtaking and we found ourselves sitting out when we were at the pod just in awe. We finished our stay with a nice log fire and BBQ which was reasonably priced from the reception. We will definitely want to come back again sometime!

Very good campsite with amazing views of the mountains, estuary, beach and town of Barmouth. However was quite a long walk from the closest village along a main street with no footpath, so most journeys are to be made in a car. Although, the facilities were fantastic, the staff were very friendly and the pitch was flat and very quiet. Would recommend.

We had a lovely stay here. The views of the estuary Barmouth were fantastic. It was quite a hill to get up. The showers were hot (although could have had some more shelves or hooks in some). Everything was kept lovely. We were able to have a lovely fire each evening and the logs and kindling were good value for money, making it perfect for s'mores with the kids!

Great few days. We stayed in pod number 1 as a family of 4. My partner isn't a a fan of sleeping in a tent so the pod was a good compromise, will definitely stay again.

Booked this site and it was just what we wanted. Nice and pleasant site owners who are willing to stop and chat. The site is basic but the pitches over looking the Barmouth estuary are amazing and definitely doesn't disappoint. Some nice dog walks too. Showers are wet rooms with free hot water (novelty points 👍👍) Pitches are a bit exposed to the wind but overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would benefit from a kids play area I think, or somewhere for the kids to play, but that's only a suggestion not a negative.

So relaxed, very well-run site! Gorgeous spot with the perfect view to watch the sunset. Just perfect, went with my two young boys. Felt very safe, not crowded. Perfect views. Well organised site. Thank you!

For the amount paid, the view etc is brilliant. Toilets with showers are free and clean. Laundry area is big enough, each tier of camping has got it's own facilities from what I can see so there was never a queue for a shower etc. If you don't have a car you are a bit stuck, you can walk to Barmouth but Fairbourne isn't anything special (in my opinion). I'd stop there again for a night or two, l get that you would need to travel a bit far to get to beaches.
