Bwlchgwyn Farm and Pony Trekking is an unspoiled campsite on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, overlooking the Mawddach Estuary and Welsh coastline,. This peaceful farm and equestrian centre offers a range of pitches for campers and tourers and also includes a pair of cosy glamping pods too! With easy reach to the stunning beaches and right on the Mawddach Trail, it's a great base. There's even a footpath leading to the stunning Blue Lake.

For the amount paid, the view etc is brilliant. Toilets with showers are free and clean. Laundry area is big enough, each tier of camping has got it's own facilities from what I can see so there was never a queue for a shower etc. If you don't have a car you are a bit stuck, you can walk to Barmouth but Fairbourne isn't anything special (in my opinion). I'd stop there again for a night or two, l get that you would need to travel a bit far to get to beaches.

Nice site in a stunning location, plots are good, spacious. Good facilities overall, toilets, cleaning area, drinking water. Reception was friendly & efficient. Only minor gripe would be toilets not always filled with hand towels & toilet rolls.

We had a lovely few nights in pod 1. The views were beautiful, the facilities were clean and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed hiring a fire pit for a night and catching the nearby train into Barmouth. Kids didn't want to leave. Would definitely stay again.

The site overlooks beautiful views of the coastline and sea. It is peaceful and near beautiful beaches. The pony trekking that is part of the site is fantastic and we did a 2 hour ride on the beach, which I thought was reasonably priced. The team of young woman there were great. There are also nice places to eat nearby. For me what let it down was the cleanliness and facilities. There are 2 port a cabin style blocks. The toilets and showers were in one. The doors had to be kept closed due to winds. One block had no windows. The wet room style facilities in my view were not ideal as the floors were always wet and dirty due to people using the toilet and showers in one. There was also nothing to clean with to wipe down after use. It was a busy bank holiday week and the block was grubby (not filthy, but definitely room for improvement in my opinion). I'm not sure how often they are cleaned but in a peak week they need doing often with the volume of people using them. The shower / toilet block is what would stop me returning. I think for the cost, the cleanliness could be better. For those with mobility issues it's a steep ish hill to get to the facilities and a gravel and dusty path. Not much to do onsite for kids but if you like peace and quiet with beautiful views then definitely a lovely place. The pony riding is a definite great addition.

Situated high above the estuary, amazing views and caught some beautiful sunsets. Friendly, responsive staff. The XXL pitch was great. The facilities were clean and the hire of the fire pit was great.

Amazing site, spectacular views, near to all the places worth visiting like Fairbourne beach, Barmouth, the blue lake etc. Lovely, friendly owners and facilities were clean. They offer everything you need for camping in a tent. I hired a fire pit and they brought us kindling and wood for £6, which was fab. I brought my dog too. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here and highly recommend it to all campers 🙂

We only stayed 2 nights out of our 4 nights only due to the weather. The place is in a lovely scenic location and the views were to die for. The only thing that let us down was a puncture on our camper and the high winds blew our awning apart.

A beautiful place to spend a couple or even more nights. Lovely hosts, clean facilities and amazing views in a beautiful setting. Barmouth is within a hour's walk and train station is within 30mins if you want to venture further afield. Will definitely be returning in the summer. Thank you 😊 (quarry 3).

The views are excellent from the site. The toilet block was clean with plenty of hot water. Disappointed that the chemical waste point was not in use as the construction was not finished. There were also sheep bones on the grass by our pitch and the glass bin was overflowing. It seemed that the site had not been checked/cleaned and tidied since last season. We were there late March but I would think the site would be tidied before peak season. There are a lot of caravans sited permanently and their pitches have a lot of debris (ie: old barbecues etc rusting) making the site look a little unkept. There are no paths leading off the site, you do need to drive to access any local walks. There is a free parking area at the railway station where you can access the walk to Barmouth.

A lovely little stay for my 4 year old and myself. It was a great base for going to Fairbourne, Barmouth and surrounding area. Apart from some crumbs on the bed the pod was cosy, clean and bed comfortable enough. We hired a fire basket which was great as the sun went down looking over the estuary. Toilets / showers very close to the pods which was handy. Be careful on the drive up to the pod as it gets a bit slippy / liable to get a bit stuck if you don’t angle the car right.

Absolutely stunning setting, with far reaching views of the estuary and sea. We saw some stunning sunsets. Pitches were a good size and the owner personally drives you to the correct pitch. Facilities were really good with plenty available. Only a minor upgrade to the facilities would be a vacant/occupied sign, to help know which ones are in use.
