VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Beautiful hidden away site in great location with lovely walks and Crooklands pub nearby is fabulous. Will definitely be staying again. Like the fact you can stay for one night on a weekend not like lots of other Lake District sites where weekends is two night stay!!

Site's response

Hello Craig Thank you for staying with us recently and for recommending us on campsites.co.uk. Yes, we get lots of people staying with us for single nights and they are very welcome to do so. Until next time Paul

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Only stayed one night as a stop off after driving back to Scotland from Cornwall. What a great wee site!! To quote my wife "best toilets I've seen on a campsite"!! Pub literally a stones throw away and canal walks on your doorstep. Excellent communication from the site prior to your arrival with details on which pitch you are on and details about the site. Excellent free WIFI also! We'll definitely be back for a longer stay!

Site's response

Thank you Andrew. We'd love to have you stay with us for a longer time to explore the area. Paul

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Booked last minute and what a pleasant surprise. we were greeted when we arrived and shown to where our pitch was. All the facilities were right next to our plot. We asked about good places to go for food and they recommended Arnside for fish and chips. Amazing. We will definitely be coming back again.

Site's response

Hi Chris Thank you for staying with us and I'm glad that you enjoyed your time at Little Acre. Paul

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Excellent place to stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Just off the motorway M6 junction 36. Only booked online an hour before arrival and received a prompt email with pitch number and other relevant information detailed. The site was very clean with fab amenities. Best shower and toilet area we've experienced with free shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Had brilliant Wi-Fi too. Lovely canal walk just offsite and a pub opposite if required.

Site's response

Hi Elaine Thank you for choosing Little Acre recently and I'm glad that you enjoyed teh facilities that we have here. Paul

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

We stayed here for an impromptu one night stay as a result of the M6 being shut, causing huge delays on our way home from a few days in the Lakes. The site owner is a very friendly and affable chap. He met us as we rolled in and showed us to our pitch and explained the facilities. The site has a mix of hard standing pitches and a grass area for tents. Cars are parked next to the tents. We had a Campervan pitch with 16a power, water and a grey waste drain. We were close to one of the toilet blocks which had laundrette, wash up and unisex toilets and showers. Showers were 20p for 3 minutes with free soaps, shampoo and conditioner. All the facilities are very new and finished to a high standard. Showers are large individual rooms with a sink so give great privacy. The site Wi-Fi was easy to access and very fast. There is a good hotel and pub just across the road which does tasty food for around £20 per head. There is also a canal with a tow path which makes for a very pleasant walk. Dog friendly site. There is a little road noise if you are on the end of the site nearest the main road. It didn't bother us.

Site's response

Hi Justin Yes, we had quite a few extra people staying with us that day when the M6 go so badly disrupted. I'm glad that your time with us worked so well. Paul & Sarah

We stayed for 1 night as a stop over on the way to Ullswater. Small quiet site with 2 shower blocks one has just been built and very nice and clean. Pub over the road and free WIFI on the site and a lovely walk along the canal tow path. Would stay again.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Didn't like having to put 20p in to machines for a 3 minute shower. No grey waste point for campervan.

Site's response

Hello Neil Thank you for recommending Little Acre on campsites.co.uk. For a while, we removed the 20p for 3 minutes and immediately ran into issues - we had multiple instance of people taking 15 min showers which was a) depleting 150lt of hot water at a time and b) hugely annoying for other people who wanted to have a shower. Once we reintroduced the 20p for 3 min charge, we've never had issues of the hot water being depleted and the facilities are more readily available for everyone to use. I'm genuinely disappointed that you've only rated us as 3*'s for cleanliness on the day that you with us, both facility blocks were cleaned 4 times and were checked over another 4 times - the first check being 08.30 in the morning and the last check was 11 o clock at night. Throughout the day, at not time did I need to take additional measures to keep of top of the sites cleanliness. Paul

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

We didn't know what to expect but the site exceeded our expectations. Although the site is small and compact, the pitch sizes were perfect. Having electric and water right behaved the motorhome made things so much easy. The shower and toilet blocks were amazing and very clean. The whole site was well maintained by the owners. Paul, one of the owners, came over and introduced himself and always said hello when passing. The site is right next to the canal which does have one boat that runs from 11-4 on a Sunday at a cost of £4 for adults and £1 for kids. The dog goes free. There is a lovely hotel just across the road called the Crooklands and booking is advisable. All in all, a nice relaxing site with very little noise.

Site's response

Hello Michael I'm glad you enjoyed the quiet time at Little Acre during your stay. Paul

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Acre Campsite. A friendly, peaceful site. The facilities were of a very high standard and kept very clean, one of the best shower/ toilet blocks we've been to! The whole site was well looked after. We felt welcomed and were given great recommendations on where to go. The local pub was only a short stroll away, which also served very tasty food. We would definitely return to Little Acre Campsite.

Site's response

Heading to Scotland from the south coast, this site was just far enough to split the drive at junction 36. Clear instructions and directions on booking, and a cheerful greeting on arrival. Nice level site with EHU & water tap on pitch. Amenities were top class, clean, warm, modern and spacious. Good showers, inside cleaning area and washing machines. Very quiet and peaceful locations. Had dinner and a few drinks across the road in the Crooklands Hotel. Truck stop on way in that had good price diesel, LPG pump, small shop and a fresh made sandwich bar. Wish we had picked up a couple of breakfast butties from here instead of pulling into Tebay!

Site's response

Hello Howard Thank you for choosing Little Acre for your overnight "pitstop". I'm glad that you enjoyed the peace and quiet with us and a good meal across the road at the Crookies! Paul

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

Nice holiday park with good facilities and local pub within walking distance. Very impressed with the site including the excellent facilities block. Only problem could be if the site was full, the toilet blocks may not be adequate. A motorhome service point for waste and fresh water would be a good addition. Cannot fault the owners, very helpful and friendly.

Site's response

Hello Len It was lovely to host you recently and I'm glad that you enjoyed exploring the area whilst you were with us. Paul P.S. we have 2 shower and loo facility blocks onsite, so that even when we are at 100% capacity, we have no issues at all.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesJul 2025

We stayed here for 3 nights. We were greeted by the owner who explained 20p for 3min in the showers, 3 x £1 for washing and drying facilities. I definitely didn't expect shampoo, body wash, washing tabs and washing up liquid to be included. The toilet and shower blocks were immaculate and I was very impressed. We will definitely be returning. Pub directly over the road for dinner but make sure you book. Great canal path for walks and runs.

Site's response

Hello Claire Thank you for the lovely review and for recommending Little Acre on campsites.co.uk Paul p.s. if you come back later in the season, you can enjoy the underfloor heating in the shower block as well!

Hidden gem. Place is spotless. Toilets warm and spotless, owners and staff very friendly. Even the ducks come to welcome you. Hotel across the road which is lovely but not cheap. Highly recommended

Site's response

Hi Fiona Thank you for staying with us recently. As well as the ducks that you saw (& enjoyed), we've also been adopted by some hedgehogs and rabbits - but they only seem to come out at night time! Paul

This is a great little site on the edge of the Lake District and convenient for lots of places. Only stayed one night on our journey north, but will be back. Very well kept site with fabulous, clean and modern facilities. So helpful, pleasant and accommodating. Nothing a problem, and just keen to ensure your stay is great. Lovely walks along the canal across the road.

Site's response

Hello Ewen Thank you for staying with us recently and for leaving such a kind review of your visit. We have a lot of people staying with us for a single night - our location close to junction 36of the M6 and having a pub that does good food 200 yards from us, makes us a handy "pit stop"! See you next time Paul

Little Acre is a lovely campsite. Nicely set out with decent sized pitches. There are two blocks with washing facilities, toilets and showers, both were clean. There is a very nice restaurant/bar within walking distance. Kendal is a short drive away. We enjoyed meeting the resident ducks. You may need to use chocks on some of the pitches. We would recommend this campsite and look forward to revisiting.

Site's response

Hello Joanne, Thank you for staying with us recently and I'm glad that you enjoyed the site (& the ducks!) Paul
