Great site Lucy very pleasant and helpful toilet block clean and tidy all in all nice place

Easter weekend

There are not enough stars for this place a real gem. We will be back, soon. Quite out of the way very peaceful. Toilets immaculate at all times even though the site was fulll. Off lead dog exercise area was a god send.

Met on arrival by the owner very pleasant lady who showed us to our pitch which was slightly sloping but nothing a set of levellers couldn't sought out we went about half way up the levellers so nothing drastic and the owner even some we could have borrowed, nice spacious pitches big enough for campervan and awning and even bigger on other of the field. Very close to town centre and the common you can walk miles it's a beautiful area to walk and a pub in the middle of the common makes the walk even nicer. Fantastic site fantastic area we 100% stay here again.

Lovely, peaceful site

This is a quiet site, close to the pub, shop and couple of cafes that makes up the heart of Minchinhampton village. It's a very peaceful site- just a field and amenities block - and that suited us perfectly. Really nice to be able to have a fire each evening - logs can be bought there. Resident donkeys are adorable! There's a bus stop in the village and buses that go down to Stroud a few times a day. The farmer's market there is well worth visiting. Lucy was friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again. Minchinhampton common is beautiful for walks, nearby. Be aware that Minchinhampton, and therefore the site, is above the valley that Stroud sits in so if there's any breeze, you'll feel it!

Excellent site

Fabulous welcome by the very friendly Lucy. Large level pitch for our campervan. Quiet, peaceful site. Clean facilities. We had a fabulous walk across Minchinhampton common and back through Amberley, and a great cycle into Nailsworth and along the route 45 cycle route and Cotswolds canal. Lucy gave us lots of advice about where to go, and the site is in an excellent location.

Lovely campsite

We had a fab quiet 3 nights here.Excellent facilities with large clean and private individual bathrooms.Fire pits and logs available.Loved the short walk into the old village with its few shops,weekly market and nice pub.The large common nearby has spectacular views accross the severn estuary and only a short drive to Stroud and Cirencester.

A fantastic launchpad for exploring the Cotswolds

A lovely and quiet campsite with all the necessities plus some extras on top. We received a very warm welcome from Lucy on arrival and were shown to our tent pitch. Toilet and kitchen facilities were clean and practical. We stayed for two nights and used the site as a base to explore some of the Cotswolds. Stroud and Cirencester are a short drive away and we would highly recommend visiting both, The Jolly Good farm shop about 10 minutes away from the site, and Dunkertons park near Cheltenham and both must visits if in the area. We will be staying at Tobacconist Farm again in the near future.

Site's response

Hi Alex, I'm sorry you felt £14 a night for an adult was expensive. We've free fire pits, underfloor heating, gallons of hot water, continuous toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, and sanitisers. Kitchen with kettle, fridge freezer and free use washing machine. We're 300 meters from the town and the campsite is immaculate! Thank you for your review but please don't return if you're not happy about the price.

Highly recommend

Lovely site, peaceful and in a beautiful setting. Lucy is very friendly and helpful and quick to respond to messages. Short walk into the village with a great pub and lots of dog walking areas. Would definitely return. Donkeys on site were very cute :)

Lovely Site, Lovely people.

5 Minute walk away from Minchinhampton. A very lovely little cotswolds town with a nice pub and a few shops. Only 10 minutes walk away from the common with beautiful walks and views. The site, was very clean with great facilities that were continuously cleaned by the owners. Good plots with plenty of space.

Fantastic stay

Lovely site in a great position. Very warm welcome from owner. Also very helpful, with information on local pubs, walks etc. Facilities immaculately maintained and clean.

Fabulous site

Super quiet site, great location for walks and pubs etc with immaculate facilities. The owner Lucy greets everyone and takes the time to pass on local info and knowledge which is fab. Fire pits free to use so can sit out long into the night enjoying the Cotswold air. Will book again

Small gem of a site

Lovely, quiet site with great facilities and a friendly welcome. Very conveniently located close to Minchinhampton village centre. Crown Inn is great for food. Easy to find excellent walking routes straight from the site. It's particularly dog friendly. Our puppy had a great time!

Good location

Good location. Added bonus to gave table benches and fire pit provided.

Great spot and adult only

A great spot, peaceful and quiet overnight. An excellent pub a 5 minute walk away and some lovely walks over the Common on the doorstep. The showers and toilets were very clean and well maintained. Friendly owners, always on hand for advice.

Short stay

Amazing campsite, even more amazing host, she is always there to help. A real gem of a find, will be going back.

Great area

Top notch facilities. The site was well drained, we stayed after some heavy rain. The site was very quiet, a lovely area, with lots of walks with some steep drops. The village has everything you might need, 2 cafes, a chemist, a post office, general shops and pubs etc. I would stay there again and would recommend.

Above and beyond, proper old fashioned customer service

This is my 2nd stay at Tobacconist Farm, I'll definitely be returning. It is situated just on the outskirts of Minchinhampton, a 5 minute walk into town, with excellent access to the local bus service. There is an lovely Italian restaurant on the high street, with a warm welcome, great food, and service. Last Friday (the 18th) I was about to leave to head to Minehead for my stepdaughter's 40th Birthday 80's weekender, at Butlins. Sadly my converted ambulance (cambulance) refused to start and run. The AA arrived and confirmed that the high pressure fuel injection pump was deceased. I let Lucy, the owner of the campsite, know of my predicament. Without hesitation, she offered to lend me her Isuzu Pick Up. She wanted nothing in return, apart from the tank filling with diesel. As she didn't want my Stepdaughter to be disappointed. I was a little bit delayed with my arrival in Minehead. More importantly, the weekend wasn't spoilt Things like this just don't happen to me. To say I was taken aback would be an understatement! Generosity of that level is in very short supply nowadays. On my return to my van, Lucy's son sorted out an electrical connection for me, as my van was off the official site. They are both happy for me to stay, until the parts arrive and I swap them out.

Very relaxing

Stayed 4 nights at this lovely site. Huge grass pitches and no children. Dogs were allowed to be off the lead, but under control. A lovely site, will go there again (and hope for better weather).

Brilliant campsite. Great facilities and very clean.

Excellent clean site and great host Lucy

Booked 2 nights here for the end of our Cotswold trip. Lucy was great, showed us to our pitch and each one has its own water supply and electric if you want it. The facilities were very clean and showers very hot. The village of Minchinhampton is lovely and the locals are very friendly, we will definitely be back.

Excellent site
