We were SO impressed with this site. We have stayed in other campsites nearby before and this one really stands out. The grounds are SO well taken care of, the team are all lovely and attentive, and the location is just spot on. Short walk into the local town, great spots for a pint or bite to eat. Easy walk to get to the Watkins path for Snowdon! Showers and toilets fab as well and absolutely spotless We sadly had to leave early due to our tent ending up being much much much less water proof than anticipated (picture soggy pillows and sleeping bag) but that’s entirely our fault! We will 10000% be coming back better equipped!

Fantastic little place just outside Beddgelert. Staff were very helpful when we had a couple of issues with our campervan. They helped and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful location surrounded by mountains and very peaceful. Would definitely recommend and will be back at some point to stay again.

Super friendly and easy check in, amazing views from all over the camp site. Only 1k from the local town which is perfect for an evening walk for drinks and dinner.

We enjoyed a lovely 4 night stay here in April 2025. It was the perfect base to explore North Wales from. The scenery from our pitch was breath-taking, with mountain views in every direction, and I particularly enjoyed falling to sleep to the sound of the river running through site. All of the facilities were immaculately clean throughout our stay and very easily accessible. My only real comment about the shower facilities was that the shower only lasted 12 seconds before turning off via the push button. I appreciate that it is better to use this kind of system to save water but 12 seconds is just not long enough to achieve anything! The price I would say is slightly on the higher end of the scale compared to other sites which cost the same or less and have more things on site to keep the little ones entertained but it probably makes up for it by the views that I've not seen anywhere else! My only other slight issue was that we paid a £20 returnable deposit for a fire pit and it is now 6 days since we returned it and no sign of the £20 back in my account.
The weather was on our side at Cae Du!

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Cae Du in our VW California. We had an electric grass pitch which was spacious and offered fantastic views, made even better by the blue skies and warm sun. Cae Du is a well maintained site, with a river running along part of the perimeter, which was perfect for walking the dog. Great location with lovely walks from the site and c30 mins to Harlech beach. We'd highly recommend Cae Du and look forward to returning.

Great site for access to Beddgelert, only 10 mins walk along the river. Staffing site very friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets are basic and clean, with plenty of hot water for showers which is on a push button timer but it's fine and saves wastage. Lovely view of Snowdon and surrounding mountains to wake up to.

Can't recommend this site enough, the staff are so welcoming and always willing to help out, the views are breath-taking. From 360 mountains to the wildlife and the clear star skies at night, if you're after a peaceful stay, this is your place - it will tick every box you have. I will most definitely be coming back.

Lovely campsite in beautiful surroundings with easy access to many walking routes. It's a short walk into Beddgelert which has a number of pubs and cafes along the river. Staff at the site were really friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely stay again.

On arrival, met by very friendly staff in reception, lots of info given about the site and surrounding area. Our pitch was in a great location near the shower and information block. Very clean, couldn't ask for a better spot, 8 mins walk to town, both the river path and road way, We also visited the copper mine 5 mins walk across the camp field. A short 25 min drive to the Snowdon train station. All in all, a great location, thanks for having us.
Really lovely experience

Me and my partner just stayed for one night just specifically for the hike up Mount Snowdon, but we wish we booked for an extra night as the location, service and campsite were amazing! Staff were very friendly and in such a nice location for walks. We will definitely return!

Really enjoyed our weekend stay here. Facilities weren't the best I've ever used but more than good enough for what is required. Location is spectacular and plenty to do and see nearby. The only negative I have is that as we arrived it was dark, Googlemaps took us down a dark, unlit and extremely narrow lane. How I got the camper through, I'll never know. This happens on a very regular basis according to locals, so make sure you do your research before heading out, as internet signal in that spot is non-existent. This said, I would 100% go back again and recommend to friends.
Site's response
Hi Alex, thank you for your review and kind words about Cae Du. We love the location too :-) Just wanted to comment on the back lane incident. We are extremely sorry you have experienced the back lane. We have this information on our confirmation emails which we send out via our booking system. This is so we can pre-warn our customers before they start their journey and can ignore the sat nav if it tries to take you down the lane. It is extremely dark at the moment too so we understand how difficult it is. We really don't want our customers to experience this lane and we try everything we can to prevent it. We currently have the brown Cae Du signs on the main road. However, we also have two signs on order at the moment for either side of the lane to warn people you cannot access Cae Du via vehicle. Thank you for raising your concerns and hopefully when you come next time the signs will be up and you can enjoy your journey to us :-) Thank you, Cae Du.

Very quiet and a fantastic location. No major issues, just that we booked hard ground as winter, and the pitch was muddy and quite expensive at £43 a night.

What a beautiful location nestled in the mountains surrounded by lakes and rivers, woodland and valleys. Great place to pitch and then head by short walk into the gorgeous stone village of Beddgelert which has lovely pubs and craft ships. The site was relaxing and peaceful, the facilities were good with spacious showers and very warm water. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return.

We just wanted a little end of season break before the campsites close and we're so glad we chose Beddgelert as a location. Cae Du is a large site ideally situated approximately 30 minutes walk from Beddgelert, it serves as a fantastic base if you enjoy outdoor pursuits. The onsite facilities are kept spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's a dark sky location if you like stargazing. However, the site is unlit so you'll need a torch once it gets dark ! The various footpaths from the site are unpaved tracks, which are muddy in wet weather. There are groundwork's in progress at the time of writing, they're preparing more pitches so maybe in future they'll get round to laying some hardcore or similar at the exits which would be beneficial I'm sure. All in all it was a great short break and we will definitely return next year for a longer stay. Highly recommended 👍

Our 1st camping trip for probably 30years, so it's hard for us to rate a site. Having said that it was clean, well laid out and the service on site was excellent. As for location on a dry Oct night, we were very happy with the 10min walk into town, with it's wide selection of eating places. For walking, the location is fantastic and full marks for the display of local walks that the site has put together, gold star.
