About the site
This multi-award-winning, adults-only retreat holds a Visit Wales Gold Award and is set within three peaceful acres of fields and woodland on the Llŷn Peninsula. Close to the seaside town of Pwllheli and just ten minutes from the coast, the five individually designed huts overlook a natural wildlife lake, with beautiful views towards the surrounding mountains. Each hut sleeps up to two adults and is completely self-contained, with a cosy double bed, fully equipped kitchen, private modern ensuite and wood-burning stove, with logs provided for the first night. Outside, every hut has its own seating area and fire pit/BBQ - a lovely place to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, wildlife and views across the lake. Susanna - a characterful poacher's hut with a striking designer interior created by Banjo Beale following its transformation on BBC One's Interior Design Masters. Dog-friendly. Angharad - a cosy poacher's hut inspired by the landscapes and adventures of North Wales, with everything you need for a peaceful escape after a day exploring. Dog-friendly Marared - an intimate and romantic gypsy hut, perfect for couples looking for a peaceful hideaway surrounded by nature. Pet-free. Elen - a cosy, characterful gypsy hut with beautiful views across the wildlife lake towards the mountains - a peaceful spot to slow down and switch off. Pet-free. The kitchens include an oven with two-ring hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, cafetière, crockery, utensils, pots and pans, and a Belfast sink. Each ensuite has a shower, flushing toilet, heated towel rail and hand basin, with towels, bed linen and soap provided. Complimentary Fairtrade tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided for your stay, along with an Anker SoundCore Mini Bluetooth speaker and radio for relaxing in your hut. There is no Wi-Fi at Brook Cottage, helping to keep the retreat peaceful and unplugged, although mobile/4G coverage is generally good. One small to medium, well-behaved dog is welcome in Joan, Susanna and Angharad. Marared and Elen are pet-free. Dogs must be kept on a lead around the site as Brook Cottage is surrounded by fields with livestock, and must not be left unattended in the huts. The Llŷn Peninsula National Landscape is renowned for its beaches, mountains and spectacular coastline, with more than 90 miles of Wales Coast Path to explore. Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park is also within easy reach, making Brook Cottage a peaceful base for walking, exploring North Wales or simply slowing down beside the lake. Site rules and policies
Brook Cottage Shepherd Huts is an adults-only site. All guests must be aged 18 or over.
Dogs are welcome in Joan, Susanna and Angharad only. A maximum of one small to medium-sized, well-behaved dog (up to 25kg) is permitted per hut. Dogs must be kept on a lead around the site due to livestock in neighbouring fields, must not be left unattended in the huts and are not permitted on beds or furniture.
Please respect the peaceful nature of the site and other guests. No parties or events.
The wildlife lake is for enjoying the views and wildlife and is not suitable for swimming.
No smoking or vaping inside the huts.
