About Wideacres Camping
This scenic site above the gorgeous harbour village of Boscastle offers a warm welcome for the entire family. All 30 grass pitches have plenty of space for your tent and car with the choice of electric or non-electric. There are excellent unisex facilities, including hot showers and a dedicated washing-up area. Take the time to relax and take in the views and sea breeze while the kids enjoy the on-site play area. Say hello to the farm chickens that roam and perhaps pop over to the curious cattle and sheep. As dinner time approaches, dine al fresco with your BBQ while watching the stunning sunset over the Cornish coastline. This site is a great base for your camping trip. Close by to beaches such as Trebarwith, Crackington Haven and Bude, the South West Coast Path, or great for a meander down the Valency Valley from site to Boscastle. Find ancient rock carvings, and the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic...once this site has cast its spell on you, you'll be back time and time again! Sorry, no dogs are permitted on site.
Wideacres Camping is open from 01/04 to 30/09.
Site facilities include family showers and toilets and a kids playground with swings and slides. BBQs and fire pits are allowed off the ground. There is 4G service available on site.
There is a games room with a pool table onsite and internet access, plus a bar open at weekends.
Shops, pubs and restaurants can be found in nearby Boscastle. There is a village shop in Marshgate and a pub in Tresparrett.

Unfortunately, we turned up just as a storm arrived and it had been raining constantly for weeks, so the lack of hardstanding pitches was tricky, but we made the best of our time! The owners were very helpful and accommodating, and helped us out as much as possible. We would love to return when the weather improves!

Loved our stay here, children had freedom to run round and play with other children in the play area, which was easily visible to supervise at a distance from the tent. Very spacious pitches with lovely views. Hot showers, very clean, also enjoyed the on site pizzas and fire pits. Need the car to get to most places but did walk to Boscastle a couple of times and got the bus back from there.

Things to do on site and in the Boscastle area
Boscastle is the perfect setting for picnics and short walks on the famed South West Coast Path to Warren Point. A path from the site to the church of St. Juliot, where Thomas Hardy met his future wife, is a great outing for bookworms.
From there, the Valency Valley walk will take you to pretty Boscastle, and if you don't fancy the walk back, there's a bus that will bring you to the end of the road.
For a walk that takes on incredible stretches of the coastline, join more of the South West Coast Path. For incredible waterfalls, it has to be St. Nectan's Glen and then onto historical wonders at Rocky Valley and the hideaway Bossiney Cove, just 15 minutes away.
Famous for all the right reasons is Tintagel (15 minutes by car) with its atmospheric castle and the medieval chapel up on Glebe Cliff. You can take a clifftop walk over there if you fancy it.
For beach days, it's a 10 minute trip to Crackington while Trebarwith and Bude, with all its energetic watersports options, are 15-20 minutes away. Bideford's Ultimate Activity Centre is one hour away and the perfect place to get stuck into watersports such as stand-up paddleboarding, laser tag and assault courses.
For more top Cornish sights, Padstow's harbour and seafood scene is a 50-minute drive.
A quick hour in the car will take you to the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
