Great campsite

The campsite was lovely and very spacious. The pitch we had was great, with space even with the tent up. We had plenty of room to have an extra set up outside. The pool was lovely. We both loved the crazy golf, and we liked the fact it was free and you could play for as long and as many times as you like. The park was nice for family visiting. The toilets and showers were nice and clean, although the showers could do with being more up to date, they were okay for a quick wash. The staff on site were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again next year.

Great campsite but need to make showers hot!

All lovely. Staff on the desk lovely. Excellent location! Loved the woodland environment, crazy golf, safari tent entertainment area, shop, and especially the pool! Improvement needed around the pool, like sun loungers and parasols/tables to be put out nicely. The biggest thing is that the showers are lukewarm at best! When camping, especially in our climate, the most important thing is a hot shower! The single hairdryer again, not hot, not quite fit for purpose. Please, please sort these couple things, and then it would be 10/10! My daughter wouldn't shower again after the first time, as not an enjoyable experience.

Camping

Overall, very clean. The staff were brilliant and very friendly. Pool was a good size and clean. We stayed on pitch G19 and had plenty of space. The kids absolutely loved it and the play area. The toy library is a great idea. Didn't get great weather but still loved it. We will 100% be back next year and we are gutted to be back home already. Thanks to the staff - Scott.

Great campsite

Fabulous campsite with very friendly, hardworking staff. This was our first time camping as a family of 5 and we were extremely impressed at what Parbola had to offer. We can not wait to book again for next year.

Great campsite

We had a lovely time even though it rained. The pitches were extremely well marked out and enough space for 2 families to camp with ease. The staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble, camping in the woods was a brilliant experience for both of my kids. The park was great the dog exercise pen is a great idea, the heated pool was just also great. The only down side to the campsite are the shower/toilet blocks definitely need to be refurbished/updated and the drinking water point could of been a little closer to our pitch, but overall a brilliant experience

Great quirky campsite

Great campsite set in amongst the woodlands, really liked the look of it as we drove through, staff were really friendly, great facilities, especially liked the borrow box, thought that was a nice touch! If I had say anything negative it would be that the site could have done with an extra toilet/wash up block at the bottom of the site!

Very happy

Excellent park. Staff were professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Music night was a highlight. Perfect holiday for a wind down. Rained most days but still enjoyed it. Would happily stay again.

Great place for children

We had great time. I love this woodland place. We definitely coming back. Safe for children with a big playground and swimming pool.

Great campsite

A great campsite, the pool was really good and the site is so lovely surrounded by trees. Really peaceful and well looked after.. the bar safari tent was great for a charge and to have place to go out of the rain. Great site. The only thing I would like is of the the location was close to a pub to go to for tea.

Thank you for reviewing our park, we are glad you enjoyed yourselves. We can recommend Trevaskis Farm Restaurant which is just 5 minutes drive. It has local fresh produce and a restaurant which serves food all day from breakfast to dinner!

Beautifully kept.

From the moment you arrive it is spotlessly clean and the grounds are immaculate. We stayed on pitch G6 which was a perfect location for all the amenities and not too close to the children's play area (adult travellers). Our pitch was completely flat with no dips, holes or even a stone, it was heaven. I didn't roll out of bed or kneel on a stone once! The staff were always helpful and friendly. The pool was a nice temperature. The toilets were great as some had sinks in the cubicles which is always a handy bonus, especially for us girlies. Our only complaint was the plumbing and shower facilities. There are no benches, the floors are a tiled wet room/cubicle so after your shower there's anywhere dry to step. Fine in the summer as we weren't wearing long trousers or socks but I can imagine it would be difficult in the winter to get dressed without getting everything wet. Also only one shower actually worked. There are 3 (ladies) and two of them were dribbles that ran next to the wall. Very difficult to wash long hair and shave legs. The other was a stream of water so better but aimed right at the curtain and off to the side slightly. Not ideal. Oh and they had those stupid push power buttons that don't run for very long so spent most of my shower cold while shaving etc. I wish sites would trust us to turn a tap on and off and control our own water temperature. Sometimes I don't want a red hot shower when it's 20 degrees outside. Same push buttons on the sinks. Cold water was a dribble and the hot was so powerful you got sprayed with red hot water. So plumbing was not great and needs updating, but enough toilets and showers for the site. Went end of July and didn't queue once. Overall a fantastic stay. Gorgeous site and great facilities.

Woodland delight

If you are looking for peace and tranquility to rest and recharge then this is the place. Nestled in a woodland glade surrounded by nature, it is picturesque. The site communicated food availability via WhatsApp so you don't miss out. The amenities in the woodland could do with some updating, hot water wasn't available there on occasion, but was fixed on the day. Very clean, staff are friendly and helpful. 5 stars from us.

Cornwall camping holiday

I can say that this campsite was very pretty and had large pitches. The swimming pool was nice, quite warm for outside. Toilets were great, with the option of private cubicles with a toilet and sink. I would say though that putting a couple without children next to a huge family was not great. I think there were about seven children. Maybe consider why people go in September, out of season? Had great sized freezers for ice blocks. I understand they are adding lodges, great if they will be cheap. The shop was small, but we didn't need anything. They also have a great way to reduce plastic, such as a water machine and loan out body boards etc. I would recommend a stay here, but maybe consider putting adults only away from families.

Awesome stay, huge pitches with plenty of space for all your stuff. Nice and quiet, brilliant for kids with there being a park and pool. Will defo be back.

Fantastic site, amenities and staff

This was a great find for a last minute bank holiday getaway! The site was really good, with lots for the kids to do, the play area was centrally located so we could see kids playing from our pitch. The swimming pool was a golden addition as our kids loved waking up and having an hour in there playing! There were lifeguards on duty and comfy loungers for spectators. The reception/shop was well stocked and it was a nice surprise that they sold freshly baked pizza, plus the local fish & chip van arrived on Saturday night. The staff in reception were so helpful and friendly which was lovely! The washing up area also had lots of space and a washing machine/dryer to use. The showers were clean and easy to use with hairdryers, sinks and mirrors. I didn't see any cleaning staff myself but the facilities were always clean (even at 3/4am!) The site had a big safari tent which had tables and chairs where families could sit, socialise and it was stocked with books and family games/DVDs. Outside the Safari tent was a drinks bar, which was staffed, so it was nice to grab a beer and sit out together while kids played. Only cons were that the staff at the outside bar were socialising with their own friends and seemed preoccupied with this. The Fish & Chip van was only on-site until 6:30pm. The site was quite quiet and everyone seemed to go to bed early! This is a personal preference of ours that when camping we like to sit out and enjoy the evening! And lastly it was a shame that they didn't allow firepits - again only personal preference as we enjoy them when camping. Overall the 'cons' are minor and were outweighed by the pros! So we would return if in the area!

A couple of the team live onsite and do like to socialize with the guests in the evenings, lots of friends made over the last few months. We now have a pizza oven at Reception so we can cook pizzas to order! Unfortunately fire pits can be quite dangerous especially in a wooded park like Parbola, we had no rain for about 2 months and fires can start so easily we don't allow fire pits to keep everyone safe. We are proud of our park and its peaceful and tranquil setting is magical. Come back and see us again soon.

Disappointed

On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our pitch. The pitches were incredibly close together and what was meant to be quiet time between 10pm and 8am wasn't adhered to, We were kept awake the first night until the early hours by a rowdy group opposite. There are only six toilets for each men and women, which is far too few for such a large site. It didn't seem they had been cleaned or restocked with toilet roll throughout the time we were there. They were dirty and smelly and the water was lukewarm. The swimming pool was used by our children which they enjoyed and great to see two life guards. The mini golf hasn't been maintained, signs had fallen down and it was covered in leaves making it difficult to play. The food van opened and we were one of the first to order. However, our two portions of chips took over half an hour to cook. Sadly, the food van was closed for breakfast due to staff shortages. This I feel is a shame as the park is in a great location and the staff were lovely. We will not be returning.

We would like to reassure you that if you have any issues after 10 pm we would ask you to call the warden's phone and our onsite team would be happy to help. The showers and toilets are cleaned regularly and the toilet roll is replenished as necessary. Unfortunately, we had a lot of wastage this August due to children being disrespectful of the facilities, which spoils it for others. The free mini golf is maintained to the best of our ability and obviously being under the trees we have leaves on the course a lot of the time. We have installed a pizza oven and we cook pizzas to order in reception. Thanks again for your valuable comments.

Great site

Great campsite. nicely separated areas and great park for kids. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Only thing that could do with improvements are the shower and toilets facilities. Could do with more of them and updating. Wouldn't put me off staying again.

Lovely family campsite

Great site, great team and facilities

Back from an amazing week. The staff were amazing, always happy to help. The site is great with lots of good points. The wood toilet block needs updating, but the other block was clean, tidy and great. We loved the water machine and fresh local milk refillable machine. Nice produce in shop. Overall, great.
