With the historic market towns of Shildon and Bishop Auckland just a 15 minute drive away, there's so much for you to see, do, and explore during your stay. Choose from spacious 12m x 11m grass pitches with a 16 amp electric hook up and water hook up, suitable for tents, trailers, roof tents, caravans, campervans, and motorhomes. Alternatively, there are 12m x 11m gravel hardstanding pitches with a 16 amp electric hook up and water hook up, suitable for caravans, campervans, and motorhomes. You are perfectly placed to explore the surrounding area. If you enjoy walking, hiking, or cycling, the North Pennines National Landscape is just a 20 minute drive away and offers stunning countryside views. History lovers can visit Locomotion, The Bowes Museum, and Barnard Castle, all just 20 minutes from the site. Up to three dogs are allowed per booking and must be kept on their leads. BBQs are allowed. Campfires are not permitted.

Things to do on site and in the Bishop Auckland area

Just a ten minute drive away is Hamsterley Forest Visitor Centre, Forestry England, where you can enjoy a range of walking, cycling, and horseback riding trails for all abilities, plus a cafe and wildlife spotting areas. Following in the same footsteps, Raby Castle, Park and Gardens is also just ten minutes away and makes for a great day out, with a medieval castle and a deer park to explore.

The Bowes Museum is a 20 minute drive and ideal for history and art lovers, with antiques, artwork, and artefacts spread over three floors. Barnard Castle, also a short 20 minute drive, is great for exploring the area's history further.

For outdoor adventure, head into the North Pennines National Landscape (20 minutes) and take in the incredible countryside views.

Durham is 40 minutes away and packed with shops, pubs, restaurants, and parks. It's also home to the National Trust's Crook Hall Gardens.
