Countryview Campsite at The Countryman is a cosy pub campsite with all the essentials. Let the kids blow off some steam on the playground, try a tasty carvery in the family friendly pub or a classic takeaway and get out and about exploring. Hamsterley Forest, fun cycling routes and more of beautiful County Durham - there's lots to see.

There are also several nice walks to take from the site.
Culture vultures can have a look at the art, fashion and design exhibits at The Bowes Museum or steam off to Locomotion at Shildon which has more than 250,000 items in its collection of railway history, and an excellent cafe.
Beamish (around 40 minutes away) provides another exceptional window into the past, where you'll explore life in North East England - riding vintage trams and experiencing life on a wartime farm.
