We stayed on site in our motorhome (family of five). The site is easy to find, Dave had called to help us with check-in and was friendly and accommodating. Facilities were clean and the showers were hot (if you waited a minute for them to warm up). The view across the valley was beautiful and the rugby ground was well-maintained, surrounded by huge old trees. We set up our swing ball and the kids enjoyed playing. It was a short ten-minute walk into the town where we found a great pub and the kids enjoyed the old-fashioned sweet shop.

This is one of the best sites I’ve been too. Lovely clean new showers and toilets. Staff lovely and always on hand to help if needed. Will definitely be back next year.

We were really excited about our stay but had a few niggles. On arrival our pitch was hard concrete a couple of inches below the grass meaning it was incredibly difficult to actually get the tent up. It took a long time to find the pitch as the two young lads didn't seem to know where we should be and we had to move three times. The place itself is picturesque and lovely and having your own portaloo is brilliant. We were disappointed that on the Saturday night there was a wedding in the club house. We hadn't been told about this and it meant we weren't able to use it and it was pouring with rain. We weren't even able to access the bar from about 8 o clock. If we had known this was the case we probably would have cancelled and gone elsewhere. The site is five minutes from a lovely town that is really dog friendly and some lovely local walks. Top tip - the chippy gets very busy so if you want chips make sure you order them in plenty of time & pop to the pub for a pint while you wait.

We had a lovely stay, the 'en-suite' option meant those in the party that were 1st time campers were comfortable with the toilet being on our pitch. The showers were the only slight downside as they were a little muddy and there was sometimes someone else in on our timeslot but it didn't cause an issue, they were also quite small.

Camping on a rugby pitch was a new one! There were plenty of portaloos so that was good, showers were limited so you had to book a time slot which was fine as long as you found staff to book it with early in the morning. The site office wasn't very well signposted so checking in was confusing - I ended up calling the rugby club to see where we were meant to be going! Overall not bad for the price and a nice short walk into Kirkby Lonsdale which has loads of cute shops and nice cafes and pubs.

The location of this campsite is perfect, a short stroll into the village with great amenities. The facilities on the site are good but they could be better - hopefully after COVID they will be. We really enjoyed the stay and will visit again next year.

My husband had found the site, we were able to select our pitch and I was delighted to see that each pitch had access to its own toilet... Something that has now set the bar for me. No more walking in the dark to the loo! The arrangements for the showers seemed a little unnecessary but not sure if the booking system was due to COVID regulations. We would prefer to take the opportunity to use the showers when we wanted to, if they were empty. The campsite was beautiful and I was amazed that by 11 pm it was quiet and easy to sleep. We will definitely be going back there.

Having stayed here in the past we couldn't wait to go back, the site has some amazing views and is only a short walk from the village which has some lovely shops, restaurants and pubs. We will definitely be back in the future.

Lovely site with basic amenities, running water, electric hook up if required. Washing up area with 2 big sinks and plenty of hot water. We had our own portaloo which was very clean and the showers were also the portable cabin type. They were clean enough but the shower curtains could have been cleaner, they were also very small and did not have a sink for teeth brushing . Also there was only one hook on back of the door so it was a bit hard to hang your towel, clothes, wash bag on one hook. It doesn't have playgrounds, shop, laundry, arcades etc, so if that is what you want this is not for you. However it is in a lovely area and peaceful, great for exploring the Lake District. The village has a Spar shop and places for a pint and food. There is also a supermarket nearby too. My husband and I are older and so we don't look for bright lights and amusements, we like the peace and quiet with just the basics so this was ideal for us and will return next year.

Perfect location for camping with stunning views, having the portaloo was brilliant for us having small kids with us and it's only a short walk into the nearest village and there's loads of places to explore and with Morecambe just along the road it's an ideal holiday spot.
