About the site


This simple, dog friendly site on the banks of the River Eden is tucked into the grounds of the Warwick Hall estate and is a great base for exploring the area. Just ten minutes to the edge of the North Pennines National Landscape, 15 minutes to Carlisle and 20 minutes from Hadrian's Wall. The site offers five non electric 6m x 7m hardstanding pitches with space for an awning suitable for roof tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes.. Please note that this site doesn't provide showers, and so guests must bring their own facilities if required. Located on the grounds of an estate where you can enjoy fishing in the river, a game at the tennis court or even a stop in the main house for an afternoon tea every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Warwick Bridge Village is just a 20 minute walk from the site where you can find shops, cafes and pubs. If you're looking to get to know the local area through nature, why not take a walk around the Warwick and Wetheral Circular route? Approximately 50 minutes in length and rated easy, the route starts 15 minute from the site and passes by a local pub, The Queens at Warwick on Eden, for the perfect pitstop Dogs are welcome to join you in your stay, with one per pitch. BBQs and open fires are not permitted.

Please note that this site does not have shower facilities onsite, guests must bring their own. The facilities at the site include a small toilet block and washing up area.

Set on the River Eden, guests can pay for day passes for onsite fishing for Salmon, Brown Trout and Grayling. If fishing for multiple days, there are alternative beats available to ensure fishing quality. There is also a tennis court available to book for a charge.

There is afternoon tea available at Warwick Hall House year round, which includes a Traditional Afternoon Tea (£25pp) and a Luxury Afternoon Tea (£29pp) booking option. Open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays every week. There is also the option to enjoy a dinner at the Warwick Hall House made with seasonal and local ingredients. Booking is necessary via phone or email.

Warwick Bridge Village is a 20 minute walk from the site and has a Co-op Food for the essentials and The Queens at Warwick on Eden pub, serving food and drink every day. There are ideal public transport connections with the Gate Lodge bus stop a ten minute walk from the site travelling towards Newcastle upon Tyne and Wetheral train station is a five minute drive from the site.

There are no set check-in and check out times, so you can arrive at any time on your arrival day and depart at noon on your last day.

Yes, one dog is permitted to join you per pitch, free of charge. Please note that breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted. Dogs must not be kept on the lead at all times and not left unattended.

Open fires are only permitted in raised fire pits, BBQs must also be raised from the ground.

The edge North Pennines National Landscape is just a 15 minute drive from the site. There are plenty of hikes of varying degrees of difficulty, family friendly nature trails, historic sites and if you stick around until dark, some of the best spots for stargazing at the Dark Sky sites.

Applegarth Sniffari Dog Park is five minutes from the site and is a great option for those bringing their pooch with them. It is ideal for exercising dogs off the lead in a secure area, training, people who can't walk their dog long distances, nervous owners and dogs, and so much more!
