We enjoyed staying here. A small friendly site. You can get a bus from just outside the site to Ashbourne, Belper and Derby. The site is small and quiet. I suggest contacting the site directly for any information you require.

The site is as we expected, the owners were nice and helpful and the views were good. But it rained most of the time. We will return to the site some day, so yes would recommend.

Thank you, Stuart. It was the wettest weekend of the year so far! Hope to see you again in drier times!

Nice little campsite, could do with a bit of a makeover in the toilets, but this isn't a negative and we will be back. The shower is great. It's a bit windy but would you expect it with it being high up there, the views are lovely. Not too far from Carsington water. The owners are helpful and cheerful. Don't believe the sat nav, it told us we were there and then we went and missed it, but there's a big pub car park to turn around in just up the road.

Thank you for your visit. Lovely to meet you; hope you both enjoy your new camping hobby. We have replaced the shower cubicle and shower and the flooring and one toilet in the facilities block. We’re on a rolling programme - taps and one of the washbasins next as funds allow. Look forwards to seeing you again.

Lovely, small site which offers views, ample facilities, peace and quiet and a location in which to explore from. Owners are very helpful. I would describe it as a place to escape…..just load the van up and enjoy the peace.
Site's response
Thanks, Claire. So pleased you enjoyed your stay. The thunderstorms on Saturday night broke the peace a little!

Myself, daughter and son in law, along with our 2 spaniels, stayed at this very beautiful sight for 3 nights. The pitch size for my caravan and awning was more than enough and the owners were so lovely and friendly, (and their gorgeous friendly spaniels too🐶🐶) Would highly recommend and is excellent value.
Site's response
Thank you very much for your review and your visit. The weather wasn’t quite what was forecast! Lovely to meet you and your two spaniels.

Beautiful site with the most amazing pod. The pod was spotless with all the accessories we needed. The one thing we liked the most was that each pod had its own shower and toilet room. A bbq and fire pit was provided. 3 pubs in walking distance from the pod and a great location close to Carsington Waters. The owner greeted us at the site and was very pleasant. I would definitely book again and recommend to family and friends.

We had an amazing 3 night stay, we barbequed for breakfast and dinner every day. It was relaxing and comfortable, the lady that runs is lovely so welcoming. It's close to a great little pub where we stopped for a drink after a day out, and if you need to stock up, there's a Sainsburys nearby.

A lovely find and reluctant to say how good it is, as it is only small but perfect for touring around, cycling to Ashbourne and walking at Carsington Water. We will be back, if it isn’t already all booked up!!

Poplars is a small and therefore very quiet, almost private, farm site. You get what's described on the website. We chose the site just because we have a dog that goes with us whether on short or long holidays, and Poplars was an excellent choice. Sarah and the spaniels were very welcoming and friendly, making sure that we settled down well. We've been into camping pods lately due to downgrading into a small car (now not able to bring all our camping gear) and Poplars is the first site we've used where each pod has an allocated "private" toilet and shower! This should now be the standard for all small campsites! As described on its website, Poplars is also surrounded by beautiful scenery being situated on the edge of the Peak District. The scenery is priceless, especially just before sunrise. Will definitely be back a bit longer next time. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed staying at this farm. It was our first time glamping and we had everything we needed for our short stay. Nice and clean site with well placed bathroom facilities. It's conveniently close to Ashbourne, Carsington Water Park, and Dovedale. Will definitely return.

This was a lovely little site with very good and very clean facilities. The shower was the best I have ever experienced on a campsite, lovely and clean and spacious with unlimited hot water and plenty of hanging space. Great location to visit different areas of the Peak District and I can recommend the pub just down the road, The Black Horse, for excellent food in cosy surroundings.

Thank you very much for your visit and review. You seemed to cope very well in the dreadful weather off the back of storm Franklin. Hope to see you again.
