We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mandale. Was convenient for Bakewell and other attractions. Facilities were basic but fairly clean. Charging for washing up water was not good and we did not use this, did it at our tent instead. Plus point for breakfast van on Saturday morning, good value and very tasty, even decaf coffee, and they could maybe even do an evening burger/pizza van? If we are going this way again, would consider staying here again.

A lovely, quiet campsite in a great location. Rural and great views. Hot showers, clean toilets and a washing up area. For the price I paid, it was a brilliant bargain. I stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it, I slept really well! I'd definitely recommend and return!

This was our 1st camping trip ever with a new tent. Came down from Scotland and arrived a bit late, about 8.30 Rachel (I think she was called) was very pleasant and helped by telling us to take a left after Mill Farm which is where the sat nav took us. It's a bit of a nuisance needing change for hot water, but you can use 20p or a pound in the showers. A quiet and beautiful place that I would definitely recommend.

This was our first ever camping trip for me and my 5 year old. And it was so good, we're hooked now and want to go again. The lady on reception was so good when we asked for directions to the Dale. Saved us about a 2-hour walk if we would have followed Google maps and for a 5-year-old, that was a saving grace. The wash facilities were good, 20p a minute for a shower and it was warm too which was a surprise for me. Toilets were clean and convenient.. the wash facilities were 20p a minute for hot water, but cold was free for a good rinse off. The site was around half full and noise wasn't an issue. Stopped at about 10.30, but was still light out. Easy to find on sat nav and just an all-round good experience.

A cute little spot for minimalist camping. All together, shower and washing up facilities are very clean. Also has a shop on site with a banging breakfast and any essentials you've forgotten. Bakewell is also around the corner.

It was our first time camping as a family of 5. We loved it so much, we wanted to extend our stay, but didn't have enough clothes or food. We liked that we could choose where we pitched. However, I think allocating spaces would have been better. When we arrived, there was a campervan next to us but (we believed) plenty of space between. After a few colourful words under their breath when they saw us, they moved to the other side. As newbie campers, we had no idea what we had done wrong and felt a bit awkward. Otherwise, we had great time we are already planning our next stay ☺️

The site is well located, being close to several great trails and footpaths. The large camping fields mean there is plenty of space, with pleasant views over the surrounding hills. The large field in which I was based was on a slight incline which was fine in a campervan and must help with drainage during wet periods. I appreciate some people are surprised that the use of hot water involves paying 20 pence pieces in to a meter but I didn't personally find this too much of an issue. The potwash room, toilets and other facilities were all clean.
