My stay

Just a lovely campsite to stay at. If you want peace, quiet & fantastic scenery, this is the place to go. The facilities are fantastic and so clean. Never seen campsite facilities kept so clean. You have your own toilet with a key. The owners are also lovely people, nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait to go back.

A little piece of heaven

As you enter the wooded tunnel entrance it felt like you were in a fairy tale. At the other end we were greeted with a big warm smile from Roy and the beautiful camping meadows he has created. Pitches were well placed and cut out in the long grass. Main facilities are in the top meadow and were clean, well maintained and the shower was lovely. There were also toilet facilities in the lower meadow. At Cannamore it’s all about peace, nature and appreciating the importance of the meadows and the wildlife they attract. Thank you Roy and team for this amazing place and for making us feel so welcome. It was great chatting with you about the area and finding out about your family’s farming history as well as your continuing good work regards the meadows and wildlife pond.

Peaceful and scenic

This is a great place to stay if you like wild camping but want a shower and loo. They do also have a shepherd's hut. We stayed in our van with our dog, just the three of us. The views of the hills were stunning, it was quiet with only a few other campers scattered about. Easy access to all local attractions and sites. We will be back! Owners friendly and helpful 🙂

Brilliant

We had a lovely stay here for three nights, the toilet (allocated to you) was spotless and the shower facilities to. In a great location with easy access to surrounding areas would highly recommend couldn’t fault a thing!

Perfect!

Wonderful relaxing field with lovely views and a very nice host. Bathroom was spotlessly clean too. What more could you want!

Fantastic little gem

Needed somewhere to stay near to Ivybridge and found the Shepherd's Hut almost by chance. What a fantastic little gem of a hut. It's compact, but literally has everything you need, it was spotlessly clean and the host was extremely generous with the welcome pack and very helpful and friendly too. The hut has an electric heater plus a log burner so you'll never be cold and it looks out across the camping area and the hills beyond. The shower and toilet are literally 10 strides away in a separate hut, but are yours alone and again, spotlessly clean. Shower is large with an endless supply of hot water. My first stay won't be my last!

Easy wild camping

We turned up on a wet & windy bank holiday in March. We met Roy from the site, who was very helpful and found us a lovely spot out of the wind. Great, peaceful place to visit.

Lovely campsite!

Great campsite, location was perfect to visit places. Facilities was clean and a bonus to have your own toilet! It had eveything you needed. Roy was helpful and friendly too! Thank you

Lovely no frills site in beautiful countryside

This small site is set in a lovely rural location within easy reach of all the tourist spots (by car) in Devon and Cornwall. The facilities were spotless and we had a key to our own toilet. Most pitches are sloping to some degree but we didn’t find this a problem. Lovely, friendly owners. Would definitely use this site again.

Beautiful campsite in wildflower meadow

A really gorgeous campsite with very helpful owners Matt and Roy (and Claire who welcomed us when we arrived slightly early). It was great having our own loo! Very good showers. Beautiful views and we thoroughly enjoyed camping right next to the wildflower meadow. Would definitely return. About 20 mins walk on to Dartmoor. Another time we may bring our car too and just park it so we can explore further afield easily as we had our campervan this time. Will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends.

Many thanks for your kind review! We have 10 loos on site and do try to allocate one to pitch to one loo where possible. It is just nicer that way! There are some really nice footpaths and lanes around the edge of the moor to explore on foot or by bike. All around South Brent, Owley and Aish. Quite hilly though being Dartmoor! Awesome little campsite

The campsite is good, with a beautiful view. It is on a hill but the pitches are quite level. Toilets and showers were clean. Not many other facilities available but it is a minimalistic campsite. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely stay for 2!

Campsite owner (Ron) very polite and welcoming. Toilets and showers kept to a lovely standard and seemed to be cleaned daily. Completely accessible water and bins and the campsite is located next to a field with cows (if you think cows are cute) so major bonus. Had a very enjoyable stay!!

Lovely visit, will come again

Stayed for 2 nights, we turned up, found a pitch and set ourselves up. It was wonderfully quiet and very peaceful. Highly recommend. The shower and bathroom were clean and the water was warm and lovely.

Tranquil natural campsite - excellent Bell tent

Stayed here three times now with a young family - brilliant! New to camping but will always keep coming back.

Beautiful spot

A very special and beautiful spot right on the edge of the moor with pitches spread out effectively for lots of privacy, and views of rolling countryside. There are lots of clean toilets and showers. The owners were very friendly. Lovely local pub just down the road.

Amazing campsite, beautiful views in a very peaceful setting

Thank you for a wonderful stay, we had two very peaceful days on this unique campsite. The views are amazing and facilities are kept beautifully clean. I would highly recommend this campsite for anyone wanting to explore this beautiful part of Devon.

So glad we found this little gem campsite

What a fab site, felt like we were wild camping but with the comfort of a shower and a loo! Spotlessly clean showers and toilets. Lovely warm welcome from Roy, who clearly loves what he does, keep up the great work. Fantastic views across Devon rolling hills. We met Anita on our way out after packing up our tent, she was preparing the Shepherds Hut for the next guest and was equally enthusiastic and offered to show me the Shepherds Hut, a great alternative in the cooler months, very quaint and cosy. The only negative - we were unable to get hot water for pot washing, but this did not spoil our stay at this wonderful site.

Quiet with an amazing view

The campsite was perfect for our trip to Dartmoor. It is quiet and clean and has a spectacular view. Matt and Roy were very helpful :)

Outstanding

Once again another fantastic stay. Very quiet site, with a view to relish. Toilets and shower rooms are very clean and Roy the warden is so pleasant. Will be staying again and highly recommend.

Our stay

We stayed for 2 nights. Beautiful, peaceful meadow with small circular plots spaced out very well, all with amazing views of the Devon countryside. Very convenient for Dartmoor and South Devon beaches, but only a few minutes from the A38. Perfect for those who like a relaxed stunning setting, with very clean facilities and lots of space. Thank you.

Great weekend on a fantastic site

Great, small site which is perfectly located with great main road access but quick to main coast line and moor areas. Very clean, tidy and quiet.
