Cannamore Camping offers almost wild camping on grass pitches over two fields. Dartmoor is easy to reach by car, bike or on foot and you'll enjoy access to the beautiful South Devon coast, a twenty minute car ride away. Choose your pitch in a wildflower meadow with wide-ranging views of the rolling South Hams countryside or pick a spot on the lower field, a more secluded alternative. Cosy bell tents and a glamping hut too.

Great, small site which is perfectly located with great main road access but quick to main coast line and moor areas. Very clean, tidy and quiet.

Great campsite with a beautiful view of hills and fields and plenty of birdsong. Good basic facilities, hot water and good water pressure in the shower. It's a basic set up, a couple of fields with a row of toilets and shower cabins to one side. If you're looking for a wild camping experience to get away from the car-park style campsite, but still want a shower and have access to drinking water, this is a great place to start. The owner was friendly and helpful, the site has separate recycling bins for cans, glass, compost and landfill. Only suggestion would be to have another couple of hooks in the shower room to make hanging clothes and towel while you shower easier.

I visited in Feb so it was very quiet, lovely and peaceful! The toilet and shower (hot!) were exceptionally clean. The field is well kept and the surroundings are lovely.

Thank you for a magical two night stay in October. The hut was beautiful, cosy and warm. (We didn't need the heater at all).Both the hut and facility's were very clean.The breakfast food included was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Everything you need for a mini break. We had the whole site pretty much to ourselves (bar one caravan) this made for extremely private and peaceful day. The stars at night really topped our our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone and we will be back.

We loved our stay - quiet and peaceful location and an incredible base for exploring Dartmoor. Lovely hot showers, clean loos and friendly staff. There aren’t many places to walk or go to in the immediate area (that we could find), but you can have all that and more within a ten min drive, so is the ideal location for those looking for a quiet spot. Oh and has beautiful sunrise views!

Thanks for your review! Glad you had a good stay! There are couple of nice footpaths not too far from the campsite although you will sometimes encounter livestock (best avoided if on the path). There are few local gems a very short drive (or long walk) away that I won't share here but will look at putting on some walking route guides. If you have a look on bing maps on a PC you can change the map to Ordnance Survey which shows the local footpaths and possible routes to the moor, pub etc!

We ended up staying for 5 nights instead of 4 and absolutely loved it! The meadow is beautiful and peaceful, with lovely views in every direction. The spaces between the pitches are perfect, so even if the site is full you always have space and privacy. The toilets and showers are absolutely spotless and get cleaned daily. Cannomore for us was the perfect balance between the simple, quiet nature of wild camping and the comfort of a proper toilet and shower. The location is also a great jumping off point for Dartmoor and the seaside. Would defintely go back!

This is our second stay here and it certainly didn't disappoint. Yet again, the campsite was very clean, the bell tent was lovely and spacious. Very quiet and well run. The kids were very happy that we had an empty pitch next to us which they were able to use as a sports field to play football. We will definitely be returning again very soon. Thank you for having us.

This is the second time we have stayed at this location. It's a lovely spot with basic facilities. You get your own key for the toilet which is brilliant. The owners are very friendly and care about what they do. There are recycling facilities. Very peaceful. We will definitely return.

Wonderful stay at this park in the midst of nature. You will get a key and have your own private toilet that is perfectly clean and a shower to share with just a few people. Loved our stay here!!

Matt and Roy were excellent hosts, their communication prior and during our stay was friendly and helpful. Roy made a real effort to enable us to have a campfire for cooking safely, during the very hot spell! The toilet and shower facilities were modern, spotless and you even had your own toilet per group! We loved watching the buzzards overhead and seeing the moon come up in the evenings, surrounded by beautiful trees and peaceful quiet of the setting. Would highly recommend to anyone who embraces an unspoilt campsite, immersed in nature!

Very peaceful campsite. Camping areas are far apart, so completely peaceful. Toilet and shower facilities are excellent and cleaned regularly.

If the simple life is your thing, this campsite is for you. Mown pitches in a wildflower meadow are well spaced out and with a lovely view across rolling English countryside. Facilities are simple too - loos and showers, and a sink for washing up, but they are well maintained and clean, and that's all I ask for. Perfect!

Nice simple campsite out of the way. Pitches spread apart so you’re not too close to any neighbours. Toilets, showers and sink and fresh water are provided and all in immaculate condition. Good value for money. Nice view. Got a very warm welcome upon arrival and was looked after well during my stay. Would recommend and will be coming back when in the area next.

Beautiful, quiet campsite set in a meadow. Limited number of pitches, so feels very relaxed. Basic but clean facilities with hot showers. The site would benefit from a sink with hot water for washing up, and a communal freezer for freezing ice blocks. Would return and recommend to others.

Thank you for your review! Now we know how big your set up is, we'll mow a bit more meadow for your next visit! As we are quite a new and small site, we are still adding facilities according to what people feel they need and I agree that hot water in the washing up sink would be a real bonus (we actually only added the sink a few weeks ago)! We will definitely look at how we can do this off-grid, in a sustainable way! I think a freezer is a must especially for families on longer stays. We will definitely be getting a system set up for the exchange of icepacks ready for summer 2022! Our focus for the campsite is camping in a meadow amongst nature, so we are gradually adding facilities whilst trying to be sensitive to the site.

Very peaceful campsite, with large pitches which are a very good distance to the next pitch. We stayed here for access to Dartmoor and it honestly was perfect. The toilets and shower rooms were absolutely spotless. We will definitely be staying at this campsite again.

Peaceful location with gorgeous views. Pitches were spaced well apart. We loved the way each pitch was mown, while the rest of the field was left as a beautiful wild meadow with long grass and flowers. It was lovely to be able to choose which pitch to use within the field. Facilities were beautifully clean. We were allocated a toilet to our pitch which was great- so there was never a wait. Showers were lovely and warm. Owners were extremely helpful and friendly. We can't wait to come back again soon!

Amazing location very close to Dartmoor National Park. Fantastic view from the campsite itself and extremely quiet at night. Facilities were extremely clean. Very welcoming hosts. Highly recommend staying here.

We stayed here for a couple of nights after arranging for some work on our campervan. What a surprise! Great location, facilities were great, clean and we pretty much had a field to ourselves to enjoy the sunshine and beautiful views. If you want swings and concrete, this site is not for you - it's green, natural and sooo peaceful. The owner and family were really helpful and friendly. Will return with some friends to see more of the local area.

Spent 4 lovely days at Cannamore camping. We did long walks on Dartmoor and visited Pennywell Farm. Dartmoor parking spots are 10 mins away. Tesco Extra also 12 mins away. Great clean facilities and warm showers! Any questions we had were addressed immediately by Matt. Conveniently close to the dual carriage way but you cannot hear the traffic. Well recommended.

Campervan camping in a beautiful meadow with a view to die for. There are 3 EHU which we didn't know about but the owners where very helpful in helping us pay to upgrade to this. Toilets are very clean and you get your own key. Showers have a toilet as well and are very clean although it is down to the user to leave it as you would expect it. Both are cleaned every day. Didn't see any elsan disposal so changed my cassette to bowl clean (pink) for the duration then this can safely go down the flush system. Roy, the owner, is very approachable and it was so nice he remembered my name. I will be going back to this idyllic spot which on a cloudless day has sun all day. They also have a Shepherd's hut to hire for couples. Thank you Roy for a wonderful weekend. I will return!

Absolutely peaceful, huge fields with warm showers and clean toilets. Please be aware that it is a rather sloping hill so if you're in a camper - bring your chocks/ramps. If you have a vehicle then it is an wonderful, peaceful area - however, you do need a vehicle to get around and get supplies etc. as it is more rural than others.

Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoyed your stay! We are on a hill which allows for some great views. Down in our lower field there are some more level pitches in a more secluded setting. Up in the main field you are definitely going to benefit from some levelling blocks or ramps if you are in a campervan although some do manage without. You are free to select your pitch in the two fields although we will be mowing some pitches amongst the wildflowers as the meadow grass gets longer. Some pitches are more level than others! A vehicle is definitely a must for most but keen walkers or cyclists will be able to access the shops in South Brent and bus ride will take you from wrangaton to Ivybridge or Totnes.

Cannamore was an amazing place to stay, so quiet and great views all around. The facilities are easily one of the cleanest we have ever used and allocated our own shower and toilet. We were lucky enough to have the field to ourselves which the dog loved. Really easy to find as the site is well signposted from the dual carriageway. Avon Dam is a great walk that's only a 10-15 minutes drive away and some great pubs around for food which allow dogs. Pricing is good. It is £4 extra per night for a dog which, if I'm honest, is a little steep to me but there is plenty of space for them to run around and a poo bin on site. I would 100% recommend staying here if you're looking for something a little quieter, great location and hospitality from the owners. We will definitely be returning!
