Cracking position as a stop over and great value for money

Cracking site for a stopover. Great value for money and owners are very nice.

Quaint site

We wanted a small quiet spot. The location and view were very cute. We did read other reviews that mentioned the road noise and that it wasn't a bother. Unfortunately for us, it was. The number of large lorries along the main road at 5:30am was! (Weekday) If any traffic noise is a bother then perhaps give this a miss. However the view, friendliness and quaintness of the site was fabulous. We had the very end plot, which had little sun in the afternoon and a smaller plot size - if we were staying longer may have been a little disappointing, one night it was fine.

Small family run site

Delightful small site; only slight minus was the nearby main road. Thanks for the cake on arrival!

Gem of a site in Dorset

Really loved our stay at Ernie’s Plot, beautiful views and fantastic site.

Quiet small plot with loads of charm

Carefully designed plot that feels very private and comfortable x rolling views, lambs and sunset. Our host was so lovely and we appreciated the welcome gift and charm of the whole place we will visit again (hopefully without rain) x

Lovely site, would recommend

Lovely clean and tidy site at the foot of Colmers Hill, so beautiful views too. Toilets/showers also nice and clean. Easy walk into Symondsbury estate or Bridport. Would definitely go there again. It would be an excellent stopover on route to West Country.

A good stay

Close to a busy main road and large lay-by which can be noisy at times especially in the night. The site is beautifully kept with great mowed lawns. The facilities on each pitch include water, coin operated electric and great hardstanding. We travelled in our 7.6 meter motorhome which fitted fine. The facilities on site were well kept maintained and nice and clean at all times. The owners were very accommodating and even left a little gift package for us on arrival. Great scenery, 10 minute walk to the local pub, five minute walk to the nearest bus stop which takes you into Lyme Regis or Weymouth. We went to West Bay, which is the nearest coast, buses go on the hour. All in all, great site.

Excellent, peaceful stay

We had an amazing stay. Very well kept and showers and toilets always very clean. We highly recommend. Only a short walk away from town.

Had a fabulous time

Lovely views, facilities, and location. Would certainly recommend. Super stay with friends. Lovely walk 35 mins into town. What a lovely area. The owner was very pleasant and easy going. Would recommend.

We enjoyed our weekend

We enjoyed our weekend stay at Ernie's plot. The pitches are hard standing and very spacious, the site has some lovely views and there's chickens and ducks. The information hut was very nice and useful. Thanks to the owner for the slice of apple cake, a very nice gesture. We will be back again 😊

Nice little campsite

Stayed here after visiting west bay on route to Devon. Had everything we needed toilet and shower kept very clean. Picnic table and benches for each plot was a nice idea, it's not a massive campsite with clubhouse etc but was just what we needed for a one night stopover.

Absolutely lovely

Stopped for two nights on our VW Campervan and loved it. Fantastic walks, pubs and beaches all within walking distance and excellent facilities and host! Highly recommend.

Nice view and good location for walkers

Nice pitches with a view of local hills next to some friendly sheep and ducks, with electric (extra charge via payment meter) and water right on the pitch edge. Outdoor seating and table available, which is a bonus in the summer. Loads of walks about and it would take you less than an hour to walk to West Bay or Eype. You have to cross a busy main road to reach these though. The only shower available had no heating and the shower itself was a very poor electric one with a spray that barely got you wet. Nowhere to empty a motorhome grey water container!

Thank you for your review. Yes, it's a good base if you like walking. We check and clean the showers twice, if not more during the day. Have found no issue with the shower. The heating has been sorted and had to wait for a sparky to sort. We do not have a drive over to empty grey water, there is a disposal point signed at the back of the shower block for both grey water and chemical waste.

Good base

My first time using this site and I wasn't disappointed. It was a small friendly site, in a good location and close to the Jurassic Coast. Good information received prior to attending the site, and nice touch of cake and cream tea. Welcomed by the site owners who were polite and friendly, the site was clean and a nice little shop if you forgot something. The location is about a 20min walk to Bridport and an hour walk to the coast. If the beach isn't for you, there are plenty of walks in the hills around the site. The local pub is a 10min walk and really nice atmosphere. There is some road noise from the main A35, but not too much to disturb my sleep. Overall really enjoyed the site and will be returning.
