VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2025

Lovely little campsite that we booked last minute. Play park, football area & a lovely little shop. we were able to pick our pitch and they were all lovely & large as well as relatively flat/level. The toilets & showers were clean & modern. Even had a freezer that you could use too. Fire pits & BBQ's allowed which is great for toasting marshmallows. lots of space for families to play & run around. Glamping bell tents with private toilets/showers also available. 15 minutes drive into Weymouth or Bowleze cove. Highly recommend.

Campsite location is stunning. Super close to the hustle and bustle of Weymouth beach, yet far out in the countryside surrounded by stunning rolling hills. Site wardens were lovely and very accommodating. Facilities are good for porta cabins. Could possibly do with more regular cleans as saw the same dirty mark in one toilet all weekend! The site is lovely, with a little shop, washing up area, freezers etc. Had a bit of trouble with noise one night around 10/11pm when a group of children were running around and screaming, weaving in and out of our guy ropes when our young child was asleep. This issue is with the parents not the site. Although, could be beneficial to reiterate the rules around noise upon check in, as some people clearly chose to ignore the signs. Pitches are lovely, flat grass with picnic benches dotted around. Lovely park and plenty of space for kids to let off steam. Will definitely visit again.

Received a very warm welcome from the hosts who were very friendly. Toilet and shower facilities were spotlessly clean. Basic sight with electric hookup plenty of hot water. Nice quiet sight.

Small Tent - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

I loved my stay here, very clean and the couple that run it were very helpful. I stayed with my son, his wife, their friend and 4 children. During the day, the kids laughing and playing with other kids was so lovely to hear, but at night time we didn't allow them to run around and be a nuisance. We had our radio to an absolute minimum, only to have the staff tell us there had been complaints about the children, I mean, it's a campsite, surely it's impossible to believe it will be silent at night? So I just want to make a suggestion, maybe put the elderly people that come to camp to one side of the field, then the people with young families to another. Apart from that, we had an amazing relaxing time! Well worth the money and beautiful views.

Lovely gem of a campsite

It was wonderful to find an all-grass campsite with lots of pitches with electric hook-up. Our welcome was friendly, we were able to choose our pitch and there more than enough facilities for us: shop, games room, laundry, washing up, toilets and showers. There is also a childen's play area. There were thoughtful touches like the supply of washing up bowls and washing up liquid. Everything was kept clean. We liked the campsite so much we went back again two weeks later. We found the campsite was convenient for Weymouth, Dorchester, Isle of Portland and Abbotsbury. Driving in and out of the campsite is easier if you head west on Nottington Lane as there are some quite severe and poorly marked speed humps in Nottington itself.

Lovely site, really helpful staff and really well managed. Everything was very clean. We particularly liked that there was a dog field for us to let our dog off for a run. We did have to make a noise complaint about some other campers after midnight, but they sent the warden super quickly and quietened them down. Would be useful to know if you can use the bar facilities on Higher Moor as part of your stay, as not much accessible on foot from the camp.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025

Positives - Terrific value for money site. Ian was extremely welcoming with a well stocked little shop for basics and treats. Negatives - WC cubicle space made it slightly difficult to access with such large doors. Disappointed that the quiet site (10pm - 8am) rules were not observed by some parents with their children. Woken up twice very early. Noisy, screaming children! This is not a criticism of the site, more of society with a lack of empathy for others and a lack of understanding that tents are not sound proofed. Maybe a degree of separation for families and couples could be considered. Also, slightly disappointed by the telephone contact when we knew, due to traffic on the motorway, that we would arrive after 6pm, to be asked if we had read the T's and C's. An accident on the motorway couldn't really have been foreseen when we booked. Overall - recommended!

We wanted to get away from life for a few days with the kids (9+11), my partner is always left to find the campsite and he booked this and we are so glad he did. Kids didn't stop running around, playing and making friends from the minute we got there to when we left, felt safe letting the kids play and go to the little park - goal posts and footballs provided. A little shop on site and games room. The toilets and shower block were immaculate and the washing up area was immaculate too, with washing up essentials already there. Use of tumble dryers and freezer. The staff were very friendly, the grounds were immaculate too, bins emptied regularly and grounds check for litter too. We didn't want to leave this morning, and on the plus side you're allowed a campfire. We will be returning.

Great site at a good price

Lovely campsite! Immaculately kept with a small play area and a shop. Reception staff at the sister campsite shop/reception were friendly and helpful and we were able to buy some essentials to get us going. Quite rural so be prepared to drive if you need anything above basics. We only stayed one night one so not able to say about walking routes. Easy drive to Dorset's many attractions. Good value for money, good pitches, would recommend.

Perfect little campsite with a great set of facilities. Fridge and freezer use, launderette, nice shop with basics and biscuits. Kids area and goalposts alongside a games room are a nice touch. Toilets and showers immaculate. We'll be back!

I realise that it is a working farm but the constant noise from the cows opposite drove me crazy, I went home after the first night.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

A lovely small quiet site. Spacious pitches and a short drive to the local amenities. The toilets and showers were fine, never had to que to get in them, they could do with maybe a mid day clean as they can get messy, especially when it rains. The truck that comes on a Saturday to serve curry is a nice idea to break it up, but the curries are not amazing. My only advice would be for the staff running the site to be a little bit more relaxed when people arrive on the site and go to join friends who have already checked in. I was marched straight to reception to check in and pay, when half of my bookings was already here and had paid for their pitch!

A Dorset delight

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2024

From the warm welcome on arrival, to finding a quiet pitch for my tent and I, the proprietors of Buckland Campsite couldn't have been more helpful. The site is beautifully kept and excellent facilities available. The level site has far reaching views over open countryside and easy access by car to Portland and Weymouth. This will be my go to campsite in Dorset!

Small Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Lovely, kind couple there to greet us with their dog 'Fenn'. Very clean site, nice and flat and easy placing in relation to toilets/showers. Clean facilities. Nice little shop and games room on site. Very welcoming to our dog, as were all the dogs on our field. Perfect for families, and couples. An easy drive to Weymouth - sea front about 10 mins away. All in all a very enjoyable stay, and would visit again.

Very welcoming staff, the site is a little far from places but was very reasonable priced. It probably needs more toilets/shower blocks.
