About Tey Brook Orchard
Located in the village of Great Tey in the heart of rural North Essex countryside, this site is set amongst twenty acres of woodland and apple orchard on a 400-acre farm. Guests feel like they are in the middle of nowhere, yet it's only an hour from London by train. Brought to you by the Browning Bros. (Nat and Archie), choose from an exciting range of quirky accommodation, including bell tents, yurts, a shepherd's hut and a grain silo. Great facilities include a fully equipped communal kitchen with a large pizza oven for pizza night and a fantastic wood-fired hot tub in the woodland available for hire. Every single glamping option includes a private fire pit, BBQ, table and chairs. Inside you'll find a cosy double bed, furnishings and bedding (additional mattresses are available in some options). The beautiful bell tents are nestled amongst the trees for a woodland camping experience. Inside you'll find a double bed with up to three mattresses on the floor, lighting, and cosy furnishings. Sleeping up to five, the bell tents are great for families! Traditional handcrafted Mongolian yurts sleep up to six people. These are complete with a double bed, additional mattresses, tales, lighting and rugs to create a cosy feel. There's a skylight to watch the stars before you fall asleep. The larger yurts are pet friendly. The grain silo is the most romantic of them all. Transformed into stylish glamping accommodation, it sleeps two people on a double bed with tables, furnishings, lighting and a skylight. The little log burner is sure to keep you warm in the Spring and Autumn. Alternatively, a chic shepherd's hut is the smallest option, sleeping up to two. It's beneath an oak tree with the facilities close at hand and has its own wood burner. Bought by the owner's great grandfather around 60 years ago, this charming hut provides a cosy glamping holiday. As well as livestock, the farm is also home to seven listed buildings, including a 15th-century farmhouse, a granary, a wagon lodge, and a large thatched barn that forms part of a medieval hamlet. The Colchester Archaeological Trust has even previously excavated a Bronze Age burial site amongst other ancient remains in several fields. In total, the glamping site can accommodate approximately 40 guests. A popular choice for family getaways, birthdays, hen parties and weddings! Dogs are welcome at an additional charge.

Facilities include the Contemporary Orchard Wash House with four hot showers and loos. There is also a fully equipped Orchard Kitchen with a large pizza oven, fridges, freezer, gas ovens/hobs, toaster and kettle. Other facilities include a communal fire pit, a communal charcoal grill (bring your own coal) and a marquee for undercover dining/eating.
A wood-fired hot tub in the woodland is available to hire for £60. The site also sells bags of chopped logs for £6 per bag.

Things to do on site and in the Colchester area
Walking, cycling are kayaking are great activities in the surrounding area. For outdoorsy families looking to try water skiing, banana boats and fishing, it's a 20 minute drive to Gosfield Lake Resort which will provide heaps of entertainment.
There are garden games available to hire on-site.
You'll definitely want to get to know the animals at Colchester Zoo. After that, kids will love the East Anglian Railway museum, and they'll feel like real train drivers.
Famous for their rock oysters, West Mersea has a range of stunning seafood restaurants and beautiful sea views. Get down to The Company Shed or The Oyster Bar for an amazing platter of what the seaside is all about.
