About the site

Explore the sandy shores of Essex's coastline on your next touring trip. With West Mersea beach right next door, guests can wake up and head for a morning dip in the sea, before returning for a bite to eat at the onsite pub. There are electric hardstanding touring pitches available, measuring 6m x 6m with access to 10amp electric hook up and a freshwater tap. These are suitable for single axle caravans, and awnings are permitted. Please note, the toilet and shower facilities are a five to ten minute walk away from the pitches. The site is also home to a selection of static caravans. The Sandbank Pub and Restaurant is open daily and hosts occasional entertainment in the summer months, such as live music nights. The little ones can also enjoy the outdoor play area and onsite arcade. Your pups are welcome to join you, with up to two dogs welcome per pitch. The onsite pub is also dog friendly and they will love the coastal boardwalk right outside the site. Sorry, campfires are not permitted, BBQs must be raised off the ground.

The Sandbank Pub and Restaurant is onsite and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner with indoor and outdoor seating, please note opening times can vary. Inside there is free WiFi, a pool table, flat screen TVs (with BT and Sky Sports) as well as occasional seasonal entertainment nights. Dogs are allowed inside.

There is a shop selling toiletries and groceries and also an onsite arcade with 2p and claw machines and an outdoor children's play area.

The Seaview Beach Diner is also located right by the site entrance for those after a bite to eat, or for the nearest larger shop, there is a Co-op a 20 minute walk away.

Overall first experience is good. The only thing that was not good was the quality of food at the club house. I found also the price of the food was a little high...drinks price is about right. Club house clean and tidy, staff polite and friendly.

No rules! People letting their dogs run loose, people with more than 2 dogs, dog mess all around. Club not serving breakfast or dinner, excuse being all kids back at school, so quiet which is not what it says on the listing, then a lot on listing is incorrect. I've waited over 3 hours for a call from a manager and still nothing!

The site was kept clean and tidy, very peaceful, location next to the sea front. Liked - well drained level pitches, water and electric hook-ups. Good dog wash shower with hot and cold water. Good on site pub, with good grub. Dislike - toilet and shower facilities are remote from the touring field, limited and dated. Why are they so far into the static park, as they are self contained? Lack of dedicated grey water disposal, having to lift a tank of water up to the chemical disposal is not ideal H&S, especially for an older person or someone with back issues.
