Shepherd's Hut - Ensuite Shepherd's HutJul 2025

I was after a peaceful weekend and to experience a mini-break in a small space that is comfy, safe and in delightful surroundings (I'm thinking of buying a caravan). I got exactly that. The Shepherd's Hut was beautiful with some lovely features and very well serviced. I had to chase about what resources I should bring but Pip called me to explain the set-up. Pip also called me after I left to ensure my stay was a good one, which was very thoughtful. Some things to consider - it needs a tin opener (I had to borrow one from a caravanning neighbour), perhaps some resources to tackle the large amount of flies I encountered, and perhaps a fan and outdoor shelter for hot days. Overall, I had a lovely weekend of peace and quiet, comfort and relaxation. I ventured into Hereford on Saturday, which had a nice market and a beautiful cathedral. The Kilpeck Inn for Sunday lunch was a great find - great service and lovely food. Thank you, Pip.

Site's response

Hi Jo, Thank you for you review, in answer to a couple of points mentioned, we did have a tin opener in the shepherd hut we try cover everyone's needs, all I can think is someone must have accidentally gone off with it but thank you for alerting me, I will buy a replacement. Also in response to your point about fly's - this is not normally an issue as you will see from our previous reviews on the campsite. I am afraid it is the continuous extreme heat we have had and the weekend you were here is was 34 degrees but I will place a tin of fly spray in the hut. it was lovely to meet you and we look forward to welcoming you again maybe in a caravan next time! Pip.
