Capel Battery is a unique motorhome site set at a historic World War II gun battery site with views of the English Channel. Providing guests with a basic base or stopover, the site is home to a limited amount of electric hardstanding motorhome pitches. Next to the Battle of Britain Memorial, the site is aimed at history buffs who will find the place fascinating. Folkestone, Dover and the Eurotunnel are also within a 15 minute drive.

About the site
The site is home to 13 acres of land to explore, including the gun emplacements, Nissan huts and views across the English Channel. Next door to the Battle of Britain Memorial and the North Downs Way walking route, the site acts as a well located base for days out. The five electric hardstanding and3 electric grass pitches are set along a concrete strip with grassy areas to the side. Each comes with a 16 amp electric hook up and water standpipe, allowing up to four guests in motorhomes and RVs only. Dogs are very welcome, with up to five permitted per pitch. Please note, there are no showers onsite. Open fires and BBQs are prohibited. The onsite remains are in the process of being restored, so there may be works going on. This does also mean when exploring, kids should always be with an adult due to the nature of the site.
