Broome Island is a unique island campsite, only accessible by boat. Situated on the River Soar between Barrow and Mountsorrel, the site offers exclusive hire for families, groups and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. Bookings are available between March and October, and customers have exclusive use of the site. Facilities include a double BBQ, campfire circle, toilet and hot shower, and USB charging. Two person glamping pod also available!

About Broome Island
Situated along the River Soar, this riverside site is the perfect option for small or larger groups, with exclusive use of the site. Boat from Barrow upon Soar or Mountsorrel and enjoy stunning waterside views as you arrive at the campsite. Pitch up a tent on a non electric grass pitch and enjoy toasting marshmallows around the campfire, or impress your friends with your cooking skills on the double-width brick BBQ. The site is particularly suitable for canoe adventures and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions. If glamping is more your thing, opt to stay in a two person pod. Equipped with a comfy double bed and mini fridge. The site is also ideally located to explore the rest of Leicestershire, with Loughborough just a 15 minute drive from the site. You can also stay onsite and take your kayak out along the river. Four-legged friends are welcome to join you on your stay, with plenty of footpaths nearby.
Usually open March to October. Available outside this season by request.
Onsite facilities include a toilet and hot shower. There is also a double-width brick BBQ, a campfire circle and USB charging.
Barrow upon Soar and Mountsorrel are both under a mile by boat, both villages have public moorings and a range of shops, pubs and resturants. Pubs with visitor moorings can be found in both villages.

Bring your narrow boat or kayak and enjoy paddling down the river while spotting wildlife.
The villages of Mountsorrel and Barrow Upon Soar are both just a short stroll away via the river and there are public moorings available.
Just 15 minutes away is the charming market town of Loughborough and have a stroll around the tranquil parks or just explore the local area.
Head to Beacon Hill Country Park and enjoy lovely woodland walks and stunning views from the top, you won't be disappointed.
